Quality human resources in a hospital is very important in producing excellent services, both medical personnel those are paramedics and non-medical personnel who work together in one unit that must be developed and maintained well in order to be able to produce excellent service and compete in welcoming the era of globalization. Increased incomes experienced by some people in Indonesia create new lifestyles that are far from health so that greater community vulnerability to disease and this is a new challenge for hospitals to improve services in the health sector. The research seeks to explain important factors that affect employee performance in a private hospital. The novelty of the research is to look for and compare the direct and indirect effects between factors that affect performance, especially the role of motivation as a mediating variable. The research uses 100 samples taken from employees of one private hospital in Indonesia. The result finds out that there is a significant influence between work environment, competence, and motivation on performance both directly and indirectly.

Lockdowns, despite their conflicting restrictions and consequences they might offer when enforced as a national strategy, are deemed to be suggestive for a prompt conquer to the Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) outbreak. There have been some success stories such as in China, South Korea and our ASEAN member fellow, Vietnam, which exhibited extremely fallen numbers of COVID-19 cases post the enforcement of lockdown. Indonesia, however, remains in the crux of dispute whether or not the lockdown is opted to force COVID-19 transmission down under control. We, in this respect, employ the most popular model which has been broadly applied in the field of epidemiology, referred to as SEIRD (Susceptible, Exposed, Infectious, Recovered, and Death), the extension form of an age-structured SEIR, where the Death (D) is included to provide more factual situation. We modify the I (Infectious) fraction as symp-tomatic (Is) and asymptomatic (Ia) infectives. There are three lockdown scenarios simulated in our modified SEIRD with the starting date are 26 April 2020 when the immediate lockdown was enacted-and a-week and two-week-gaps, respectively. We figured out that by stipulating the lockdown without delay (26 April 2020), the new cases could be kept below 10,000. A week delay escalates case number to 5,000 and delay for one more week results in beyond 20,000 new cases. Furthermore, when the intervention is delayed following the delayed lockdown, normalization would demand a longer period within which dealing with more critical and dying patients is unavoidable and should be more anticipated.

Traffic Violation Detection system using radio frequency identification (RFID) has been applied to detect vehicles with limited power sources through RFID Tag. Camera sensors are also applied to identify a vehicle and its plate number through image and video processing known as computer vision. On the other hand, vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) to gain information about location, speed, and so on through the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) connection. Lastly, the internet-of-things that is backed-up by cloud computing helps to store various information from each of these technologies and process them to get results. Many researchers have proposed and developed algorithms or technology with astonishing experimental results of them. However, there has been no review of the integration and reporting mechanism that correlates them. There has also been no review about how to connect the information to the authority and violator. Therefore, the review was made to explain each technology's method with their experiment's results and issues. Moreover, the future challenge also had been given to further research.

Most offshore platforms in Indonesia use API RP 2A WSD as a guideline for designing earthquake-resistance offshore structures. However, this guideline does not explicitly state the return periods and the procedures for developing the designed response spectrum for used in seismic design. The procedures are described in more detail in ISO 19901-2 which stated explicitly requirement design parameter of 1.0s oscillator period and for a 0.2s oscillator period for a 1000-years return period of the earthquake. The paper presented a development of seismic hazard maps for 1.000 years return period for North Java Offshore Indonesia. The seismic hazard maps were modeled by the USGS PSHA program based on probabilistic concepts. The seismic sources used in the analyses were based on the latest researches published by National Center for Earthquake Studies (PuSGeN) in 2017. The study reveals that, generally, North Java Offshore Indonesia can be categorized as seismic zone 1 and 2 and East Madura as seismic zone 3 in accordance to ISO 19901-2.

In a traditional mouse, the design is usually made to position the arms and palms facing down so that the forearm muscles will be tenser, and posture or position is not ideal on the wrist which will be more at risk of disruption of the wrist nerve (median). The wrists carry out repetitive movements for long periods to type and hold the mouse which generally uses a combination of strength and repetition of movements of the fingers and hands over a long period. As a result of excessive use of these hands can be a trigger for the risk of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS). This syndrome occurs when the nerves in the wrist are squeezed or compressed, causing a condition that makes the fingers experience a tingling sensation, numbness, pain, or weakness. To avoid this problem, a vertical mouse is recommended to use. Vertical mouse factors include width, height, and button switch position. The aim of the research was to obtain information based on experiments of which factors most influenced user convenience and the proposed design vertical mouse with a size suitable for Indonesian.

Airport runway designs must consider wind climatology to reduce the potential for crosswind and tailwind events that can cause accidents and aircraft delays. The large potential of crosswind and tailwind on a runway at the airport is very detrimental to aircraft passengers and airlines. Therefore, it is necessary to know the potential of crosswind and tailwind on the runway of Soekarno Hatta Airport and find the right parameters for the approximate direction and speed of the wind on the airport runway. Analysis was carried out using the direction and wind speed data from the Soekarno Hatta meteorological station in 2007-2017 to determine the potential for crosswind and tailwind on the runway of Soekarno Hatta airport and run a Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) weather model to determine the parameterization of the right weather model for wind forecast at Soekarno Hatta airport. The highest maximum crosswind component in the 2007-2017 period occurred in August 30.53 knots, while the highest maximum tailwind of 25 knots occurred in January for a 250-degree runway and 24 knots occurred in August for a 070-degree runway. The potential for crosswind and tailwind is different every month. The scheme produces forecasts of wind direction and speed with a strong level of correlation with observations of wind direction and speed from the Soekarno Hatta meteorological station, the correlation value is 0.61. The most significant social impact of plane delays is time loss for passengers. While the economic impact on one of the crosswind events at Soekarno Hatta airport was an economic loss for one airline of US $ 43,392.

Pervious concrete or non-fine concrete is a simple form of lightweight concrete made by eliminating the use of fine aggregates. As a result of not using a fine aggregate in pervious concrete, then created a cavity filled with air and water can be passed. This cavity resulted in a reduced density of the concrete and the reduced amount of area that needs to be covered by a cement paste, thereby reducing the compressive strength. This study aimed to utilize waste material to increase the compressive strength of pervious concrete. The waste material was the coconut shell ash and coconut shell flake. The method was to strengthen the coarse aggregate concrete mixture. It was expected to increase the compressive strength along with the increase in permeability. Thus, in this study, the researchers will replace part of the coarse aggregate with coconut shell flake with percentage 0%, 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, 10% and partially replace cement with coconut shell ash with percentage 0%, 2,5%, 5%, 7,5%. The results show that the combination of coconut shell flake and coconut shell ash does not increase the compressive strength of the concrete mixture. However, it increases the porosity, permeability, and as a result, the density is getting lower. Further study will be performed on porous concrete using coconut shell flake for lower load facilities, such as pedestrian or bicycle pathways.

This study focused on modelling the use of social network marketing in Indonesia. This platform was currently widely used as a means of trading among sellers and buyers so that they did not have to go to many stores to get their necessities. However, several studies showed that there was still a lack of trust, causing buyers to be reluctant to use the platform. Thereby, the objective of this study was to investigate what factors contribute to their reluctancy to use the platform. Therefore, a quantitative methodology was applied to model the use of social network marketing using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling). After conducting purposive questionnaires to about 250 various buyers in Jakarta, Smart PLS was run to get a robust and accurate model (Goodness of Fit = 0.72). The result indicates that 1) Behavioural Intention is effected mainly by Perceived Usefulness (r=0.80), Awareness (r=0.67), Perceived Ease of Use (r=0.63), and Perceived Credibility (r=0.37), 2) Perceived Usefulness is effected mainly by Perceived Ease of Use (r=0.78) and Computer Self-Efficacy (r=0,56), 3) Perceived Ease of Use is effected by Computer Self-Efficacy (r=0.61), 4) Perceived Credibility (PC) is effected by Awareness (r=0.44) and Computer Self-Efficacy (r=0.28), and 5) Awareness is effected by Computer Self-Efficacy (r=0.32). Therefore, the implication of this study indicates that in order to promote the behavioral intention of buyers, sellers should mainly promote the perceived ease of use of their platforms and their buyers' computer self-efficacy, followed by other remaining factors.

In recent years we have seen a major shift and trend to the use of four-wheeled suitcase with the reason of easiness to manage and perhaps a better balance. Unlike four-wheeled suitcase with single storage platform with the edge opening models which provide rolling stability and comfort handling, four-wheeled suitcase with splitting storage platforms with the middle opening models is often given rolling instability and less comfort handling because the underside sometimes is uneven position and affects the movement of the wheels. Pushing beside and pulling behind a suitcase with rolling wheels instability over a long period of time can induce musculoskeletal disorders. Through the analysis of existing suitcase designs, the questionnaire was used to collect customer voice data from a random sample of 126 respondents. After that, a research was conducted to design products and simulate tensile strengths for several types of materials. Here, silicone is the best option for material of the product.

In the research, we quantified the amount of fuel consumed during a phantom traffic jam and compare it with that without the jam. We adoptd an approach from a microscopic perspective where the vehicle dynamics were closely observed and monitored. The required traffic dynamics data were obtained from a previous work where the phantom traffic jam was reproduced in a laboratory setting. The test involved 22 vehicles moving a circular road with a circumferential length of 230 meters. During the test, each driver was requested to drive at the velocity of 30°C;km/h. Considering the proximity of each vehicle to its leader, the phantom traffic jam was instantly produced in the traffic flow. The test allowed us to quantify each vehicle acceleration, velocity, and position, from which the fuel consumption rate could be estimated at each time instant. We compared the fuel consumed by the vehicle for crossing two road segments with and without the phantom traffic jam. Utilizing a numerical integration, we quantified the required fuel for each segment. The result suggests that the vehicle during phantom traffic jam may consume the fuel as much as thrice of those without the jam.

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system can be considered as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) system implemented to engineering structure to provide real-time information on the integrity of the structure. In doing so, the system acquires data from various sensors distributed across the structure and infers damage sensitive quantities. In the research, we proposed a damage index derived from the governing dynamics of the structure in the frequency domain. The proposal was empirically verified by applying the index to analyze the case of a cracked cantilever beam subjected to a harmonic load. The value of the damage index was computed at some points surrounding the crack to understand the effect of the distance of the monitoring point to the crack to the index sensitivity. The results suggest that the index is sensitive to the crack particularly when the observation point is near the crack.

The manufacturing industry must maintain high productivity and quality to be competitive and sustainable. The best way to achieve this is done through preventive maintenance programs. The aim of the research was to determine the effectiveness of engine performance, identify the constraints of the performance of a screw press machine, and determine preventive actions to minimize engine performance ineffectiveness. The research was conducted on Crude Palm Oil (CPO) production in Jambi Province. The analysis tools used are Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Fishbone Diagram, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and 5-Whys analysis. The results show that OEE is still below world-class standards. The cause of screw press machine failure is the entry of foreign matter and wear from the machine. The most significant risk that has the potential to hamper the performance of the screw press is the loss of oil on the pulp or fiber and damage to components inside the screw press machine. Mitigation actions to minimize engine performance ineffectiveness are periodic maintenance, the application of preventive maintenance, and magnetic parts installation.

With the proliferation usage of video surveillance for safety, traffic control, and privacy purposes and with the constant growth of population, it is important to keep monitoring using Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV). With new upcoming developed technologies, new systems and algorithms are introduced and implemented to the crowd counting system today retrieving live video surveillance from the CCTV. However, recent studies show that there are some challenges still faced regarding the crowd counting system which uses the density estimation. The problems that occurred have resulted from the inaccuracy of the system that is caused by several factors. Factors such as the perspective distortion which is caused by the lack of data training and the method such as face detection is an ineffective method to determine the population density. Studies proposed have projected the idea of developing a more robust crowd counting methodology by implementing crowd counting by detection, clustering, and regression. Implementing these methods using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) will better the result of the detection since in CNN the image can be inputted and it will undergo several layers which will result in the system being able to differentiate one image from the other. With CNN the process of crowd counting will be able to be more advanced.

Sunda Strait is one of the most important straits in Indonesia since it connects two major islands of Indonesia as well as two oceans. Due to its high importance, it is essential to have a well understanding of significant wave height within the strait. However, there are currently no long-term significant wave data from buoy records in Indonesia. The available fine-resolution meteorology-oceanography (metocean) data around the Sunda Strait is also not as fine as other locations in the world. Therefore, hydrodynamic modelling is essential to obtain significant wave data that completely covers the strait. The aim of this study was to perform a sensitivity analysis based on Sunda Strait SWAN significant wave height model In the research, we performed a sensitivity analysis on a significant wave height SWAN model using various spatial resolution of wind forcing from the ECMWF ERA5 database. The analysis is essential to obtain the coarsest acceptable metocean data for modelling. Our result shows that higher spatial resolution of wind forcing gives better agreement with the ERA 5 wave data. For the Sunda Strait case, we recommend using no coarser than 0.5 degrees of spatial wind forcing resolution. However, we also found that the modelling result, along with models from past studies, still underestimates the reported wave height data in extreme conditions.

The inclusion of content is not new in the world of language teaching. Studies on sustainability issue alone in the world of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) have reached up to 1.500 studies in google scholar search. With focus rests on the content and less on the language teaching, it is interesting to analyse whether a group of Indonesian preservice English teachers are ready to plan and implement CLIL in their classes. The article reported a document analysis of 13 CLIL lesson plans on food sustainability designed by preservice English teachers after a three-week lesson planning workshop. The lesson plans were analysed by following the 3 iterative steps of qualitative document analysis research methods, i.e. skimming, reading, and interpretation and the 4 frameworks of CLIL lesson planning: content, cognition, communication, and culture. The analysis revealed the preservice teachers' inadequate understanding of food sustainability issues and disparities in developing activities that would support students' higher order thinking skills. Despite what seems to be a grim portrayal of the preservice teachers' understanding of the issue, it is worth acknowledging that most lesson plans explicitly offered collaborative learning activities and refreshing ideas on how to integrate food sustainability in the foreign language classes.

There has been an increasing concern in the development of sustainability in Indonesia. Indonesia's sustainability policy through Indonesian Palm Oil Sustainability (ISPO) and recently Presidential Decree Number 44 of 2020 on Certification System for Sustainable Palm Oil Plantations prove the government's seriousness in managing palm oil. Growing global market demand requires the expansion of oil palm plantations. Unfortunately, land expansion can cause environmental hazards, such as deforestation, loss of biodiversity, increased greenhouse gas emissions, and green land damage. On the other hand, the threat to sustainable development in the palm oil industry and pressure from stakeholders for more responsible industrial practices require sustainable production activities and minimize environmental and social impacts through sustainability principles. The government, companies, smallholders, palm oil associations, and INGO/NGO strive to build synergies in finding strategic solutions under the ISPO certification scheme. This article explores the involved actors in the palm oil industry and the relationship pattern between actors. Methodologically, the author uses a qualitative method and multi-stakeholder approach to invent how actors deal with sustainability issues in the palm oil industry and carry out sustainability commitments. The results show that Indonesia faces economic, social, and environmental imbalance. In implementing ISPO certification, Indonesia has involved all multi-stakeholder actors: state, company, IGO, and civil society.

About 90% of the information needed for driving is received visually by the driver. Only a little information is received with hearing (horns and shock markers) and a sense of touch (tactile markers and rough roads). Most of the information they get is visual. The two most common equipment used by technicians to give information is signs and markers consisting of signs, colors, and words. Traffic signs are elements defined as a special set of code labels intended for traffic users, which are in a vertical field for traffic areas. It is a basic means of communication between authorities and road users. Standards and guidelines suggest the use of words and color codes that are appropriate for conveying the different intensity of hazards. Red, yellow, and blue indicates a decrease in the intensity of the danger. Likewise, danger, warning, and attention show the danger in decreasing intensity even though some studies find no significant differences in the hazard assessment of warning and attention words. Signs and color codes used in our study are capable of giving meaningful meaning, warning, attention, thinking, and notification. For colors, it will be red, yellow, green, white, blue, green, and orange. We will evaluate perceptions of implied danger and language effects.

This research aims to find whether the image coming out directly from the digital camera and unmanipulated via picture editing software is the authentic or original image that tells of the fact and is not engineered. A digital image that is published often sparks a debate on whether the image is true or manipulated beyond the tolerance of the journalism code of ethics. Some debate rises to question the authenticity of the image because the photographer or the photo-editor puts some aesthetics choice or tries to push the quality of the image during the process. Knowing whether the image coming out directly from the digital camera can be considered unmanipulated is a necessary beginning to other research in photography and digital photojournalism world. This finding will be a stepping stone to another research about image processing techniques in the digital photography era. It will help create a new understanding of what is digital photography. This research uses the qualitative method. There are three conclusions in this research. First, pictures coming out directly from the digital camera cannot be considered as an original image. Second, the picture from a digital camera directly cannot be considered as a picture that tells facts. The fact refers to the authenticity of recorded light from the scene forming the layout of things and colors of the image, not the event. Multiple studies essentially state that women's empowerment and sustainable development are closely interrelated. Empowering women possibly increases women's political leadership ability, which may have a direct or indirect impact on sustainable development. In the case of Singapore, it finds distinction in defining the linkage between women's political participation and sustainable development. This paper provides a three-dimensional model of women's empowerment and limits the data set in 1990-2019 to find how women's participation in politics contribute to the economic and social development in Singapore. Using a qualitative method, this study finds that women's participation in parliament has not affected the improvement of health expenditure, labor force participation, and GDP per capita. It is due to restrictions on the rights, responsibilities, activities, access, and control between men and women (gender inequality) who are intentionally constructed through education systems, economic and political systems, legislation, culture, and traditions.

As Parasite wins four Oscar awards at 2019 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, more film scholars and critics pay more attention to the South Korean film industry, particularly to the film director, Bong Joon-Ho. Regarding biospheric harmony, the director depicts "ecological monsters" in his works, namely toxic chemical waste, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and cruelty towards animals, and the frozen earth caused by global warming. By having a close reading and textual analysis on The Host (2006), Snowpiercer (2013), and Okja (2016), the research will focus on those films directed by Bong Joon-Ho, which represent the horrific environmental issues. Particularly, the authors will investigate how the three films depict the discourses of ecological problems. The results show how strong messages regarding ecological issues are represented in the three films, metaphorically and literally and become valuable lessons for environmentalists and film scholars/filmmakers. The Host depicts a monster made by "biological terror", namely toxic waste, which is the real threat metaphor in real life and based on the actual ecological disaster. Okja reveals the horror side of the meat industry, particularly the ones with GMOs, and issues of vegetarianism and animal rights. In 2019, the European Union Parliament made a policy to stop the use of Crude Palm Oil (CPO). The decision was taken after the European Union Parliament agreed to use environmentally friendly renewable energy as stated in the "Report on the Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and the Council on the Promotion of the use of Energy from Renewable Sources". This policy makes Indonesia one of the largest CPO producers with the potential to lose its market. This policy makes Indonesia conduct a counter attack (retaliation) by using the World Trade Organization (WTO). Previously the President Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo also conducted retaliation in the form of a boycott products from the European Union such as airplanes from the French manufacturer, Airbus. The retaliation is considered effective because Indonesia accounts for 5.7% of the Airbus market in Asia Pacific with a valUni Eropa of US $ 42.8 billion. This amount is still far greater than Indonesia's CPO exports on the European Union market which is only worth US$ 4 billion. Its means that if this retaliation occurs, Indonesia will have a better bargaining than the European Union, so it is hoped that the European Union can soften and end trade disputes between the European Union and Indonesia.

This research aims to examine the impact of CGPI award on firm's operational performance. Contrary to our expectation, using a sample of 45 companies listed in LQ45 index during 3-year observation period, it is found that corporate governance award has a significant negative relationship with companies' performance. We use CGPI awardee/non-awardee to represent corporate governance award and ROA as a proxy of firm performance. Control variables included in this research consist of independent commissioners' independency, board of director size and firm size. The unexpected negative relationship might indicate that the additional costs that must be borne by companies to implement good corporate governance practices, eventually become disadvantageous to their operational performance. The similar conclusion is found for the longer-term performance. Furthermore, we also find that the average ROA of CGPI awardees is much lower than the non-awardees, arguably due to the costly efforts put forward by the awardees to carry out and report on their corporate governance practices. The result of this research confirms the stewardship theory, in which the awardees put management as a steward and govern the firms to grow in size, however it comes with a certain cost that reduces their profitability.

Women's participation in decision-making process is imperative in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), as their representation will improve the quality of development in the society. Cross-national studies suggest that the number of women in parliament and in the labor-force are closely associated with higher government spending on education and health. Other studies highlight the correlation between women's share in parliament with better economic performance measured by GDP per capita. Using a unique dataset for the years spanning from 1970 to 2020, this paper aims to unpack the experience in Indonesia, an emerging economy in Asia with a relatively stable democracy. The findings suggest that women's presence in the national parliament correlates strongly positive with higher GDP. Also, with a weaker correlation, more women elected as legislator, bigger fiscal allocation by the government for education and health. On the other hand, the impact of women's participation in the labor force has less significant connection with government welfare spending in Indonesia.
