The micro-hydro power plant is an alternative to provide electricity especially in regions that are far from the PLN network. The micro-hydro power plant uses water flow to generate electricity. The micro-hydro power plant uses a gate that is utilised to distribute water to the turbine. However, the watergate is commonly controlled manually which results in drawbacks such as unfavourable stabilization and the need for direct monitoring that requires lots of constant expense as well as labour. The objective of this research is to make equipment that can work automatically in substituting a labourer's role in opening and closing the watergate according to the required water flow. A water flow sensor is used to measure the water flow, the result of the sensor reading is carried on to microcontroller (set up as Fuzzy Logic Control) and Controler sends the control signal to the actuator (DC motor). The Fuzzy Logic method as the watergate controller is used as the research's prototype system. Based on the data acquired by the research that has been done, the system is oscillated towards the change of the water flow. However, it's capable to approach the set value point. It can be seen from the water flow trial with a set point of 3 L/min the steady-state response of system undergoes at range of 2,92 L/min–2,95 L/min and with a set point of 3,5 L/min, the steady-state response of system undergoes at range of 3,44 L/min - 3,47 L/min.

Electricity needs in Indonesia are getting bigger, following the increasing population. Today, most of Indonesia's electricity needs providing by PLN. However, most PLN electricity sources are non-renewable energy sources. Indonesia is a tropical country that receives sunlight almost all year long, so it is possible to use solar as an alternative energy. We designed an automatic switch system that could switch the electrical energy source from solar panel to the power plant from PLN if the power from the solar panel were insufficient. The automatic switch controller in this system uses backpropagation neural networks. The artificial neural network (ANN) model in this study consisted of two inputs, two hidden layers, and one output. The residential loads used are lamps, rice cooker, and fan. From the research results, the optimum epoch value is 2000, with an automatic switching accuracy value reaching 98.6%.

Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that aims to broaden the benefits of continuously connected internet connectivity. The IoT concept infrastructure can be built using existing digital communication standard protocols such as Wifi, Zigbee, Bluetooth, but these three standards have limitations in terms of distance and power consumption. The LoRa communication protocol is a special communication standard that emphasises the aspects of long-distance, low power, low data transfer at relatively low prices. It utilises a gateway to forward messages from nodes. This research focuses on the implementation of open and low-cost LoRa gateway, which will be installed in the area of the Diponegoro University Vocational School Semarang. Communication functionality is tested using The Things Network server. The coverage range of gateway was tested by recording RSSI and SNR values received by the gateway. Test results show RSSI readings above -100 dBm at a radius below 100 m from the gateway. RSSI and SNR values appear to drop dramatically in low elevation conditions, especially if the position of the node-gateway is almost obstructed by the ground surface. The surface obstacle in the form of dense trees and thick buildings also contribute to reducing the quality of signal reception.

Light intensity is one of the many factors that can influence the power output of a solar cell. In this research, light convergence method is performed by using a Fresnel lens to increase the light intensity that are passes through the solar cells. 2 solar cells are used for this research. One of them is paired with a Fresnel lens positioned perpendicularly at a distance of 5cm. The output from both solar cells are then compared. The solar cell paired with the Fresnel lens contains a higher power output by up to 40.29% at 13.10 o'clock in the afternoon compared to a normal solar cell. However therein lies a decrease in power output at 10.00 – 10.30 o'clock and 13.30 – 14.00 o'clock by up to -30.65% because shadows from the Fresnel lens relative to the sun's position affects the light intensity a solar cell receives. Results from 3 days' worth of tests shows that at 10.00 – 14.00 o'clock, the solar cell paired with a Fresnel lens retain a higher average power output of around 6.08% compared to a solar cell without one.

Hyperspectral anomaly detection aims at identifying unique objects with different spatial and spectral appearances from its surrounding pixels. One of the widely used conventional methods is Collaborative-Representation-Based Detector (CRD). CRD approximates each pixel on the background that can be represented by neighboring pixels, while the anomaly pixels cannot be. The detection image generated from this method is quite satisfying since it can detect anomaly pixels quite accurately. However, the resulting detection images still contain a lot of pixels which are not anomaly even with tiny intensity values. In this study, we apply the Root-Mean (RM) adjustment threshold to filter the false-positive pixels in the output images of CRD, so that it gives more accurate results. In the experiment, six hyperspectral data with the corresponding ground truth images are used. The results show that after applying the RM threshold, the accuracy increases with the decrease of the six RMSEs in the range of 31.51 – 63.58%.

Feature selection is one of the pre-processing stages of classification carried out by selecting relevant features that affect the results of classification. The advantage of feature selection is that it increases the value of accuracy. Data mining in the medical world has excellent potential for knowing hidden patterns in medical data sets. However, medical data sets often have large dimensions and have irrelevant features that can decrease the performance of the algorithm. This study aims to analyse the performance of the rough set approach as an algorithm used for feature selection in breast cancer diagnosis cases. This study conducted a feature selection process on the Wisconsin Breast Cancer (Diagnostic) Data Set provided by the UCI machine learning repository. There are several steps taken in research to realize these goals, such as data pre-processing, feature selection, data randomization, classification and performance evaluation. The result shows that feature selection using the rough set of methods has proven to be effective in reducing a large number of features in the data set.

Multilevel thresholding problems based on Otsu criteria are discussed in this paper. One weakness of the Otsu method is that computational time increases exponentially according to the number of thresholding dimensions. In this paper, a modified Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm called Autonomous Groups Particles Swarm Optimization (AGPSO) is proposed to reduce two problems trapped in local minima and a slow convergence rate in solving high-dimensional problems. AGPSO is used for multilevel thresholding image segmentation. The performance of AGPSO is compared with standard PSO on three natural images. The parameters used to compare the performance of AGPSO and PSO are SSIM, PSNR, Computation Time, optimal threshold obtained from each algorithm. From the experimental results show that AGPSO is better when compared to PSO in image segmentation, from the resulting fitness value and higher SSIM and PNSR values.

In general, system security has become a crucial element in the digital aspect. Technically, evaluating the system there are aspects, one of which is by conducting a security assessment. Specifically, each system that will be evaluated is the essence of vulnerability search. The information security assessment is a form of awareness regarding cyberattacks that always increases from year to year. The assessment process can be carried out by an internal team and/or external auditor. The stages of evaluation by internal teams are certainly different from those of external parties. External auditors in conducting assessments need to learn or get as much information as possible related to the target, which in this case is in the form of a subdomain. Therefore, we need applications that support effective and efficient Information Gathering to assist in analysis and reporting. There are still many Information Gathering applications that do not include reporting and data validation systems. In this study, it is proposed to develop applications to support the Information Gathering stage which makes it easier for Cyber Security researchers/analysts.

One of the labor problems in Indonesia is the occurrence of mismatch (incompatibility between education and job). The incompatibility of education and job (labor market) can be categorized into several criteria such as vertical mismatch, horizontal mismatch, overqualification, under qualification, over skilling, under skilling, credentialism and economic skills. In several countries, analysis of mismatch between education and labor market can be used with several methods such as the Maximum Likelihood equation, the Mincer-type income equation, and the use of clustering algorithms in data mining. Indonesia can adopt a method of measuring the mismatch between education and labor market which suitable with the condition in Indonesia. The use of the K-Means algorithm or the hierarchical clustering algorithm will be able to see how much mismatch is occurring in Indonesia. Clustering is carried out referring to the Republic of Indonesia's Presidential Regulation No. 8/2012 and the Indonesian Classification of Work (KBJI).

Catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is a species of freshwater fish that has good prospects for cultivation. This type of fish has a fast growth rate, is able to adapt to a bad environment and is easily cultivated. Water quality is the main element that influences the level of fish life. However, catfish deaths often occur when water quality is in certain conditions. Fish mortality can be predicted using an appropriate system so that it does not greatly affect the cultivation process. This research has succeeded in developing a prediction system for catfish mortality as a result of the water quality used for catfish farming. This system is based on case-based reasoning. The matching process starts by entering water quality condition variables such as Temperature, pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Dissolved Oxygen. Features entered by the user will be referred to the knowledge base. The system will look for a base case that has been indexed before. The similarity calculation with the highest value is used as a prediction of the effect of water quality on the mortality rate of catfish farming. The similarity of the test cases shows that the new case has a similarity level of up to 80%.

Gaultherin in gandapura can be extracted using hot water and calcium carbonate, followed by solvent extraction using acetic ester hydrate at a temperature of 100 °C. However, the process yields only 4 g/kg of fresh leaves. A technique of simultaneously gaultherase enzyme inactivation and gaultherin extraction with ethanol solvent should be studied. Preliminary studies of Gaultherin extraction with ethanol has been done and it is able to obtain gaultherin up to 14.46% at pH 8. This study will examine the development of the process photo-extraction-UV and osmosis dehydration simultaneously. The advantages of this process are (i) the gaultherase enzyme experiences unfolding, resulting in reduced hydrolysis reaction, (ii) increase in gaultherin yield, (iii) needs less energy, and (iv) purification of the product would be lighter. Study of the effect of solvent concentration and extraction time on gaultherin recovery was carried out for 2 months in the Laboratory of Chemical Engineering Operations at UNDIP Vocational School. Variables include dependent and independent variables. Dependent variables include the solvent-feed ratio of 5:1, pH 4.8, 75 rpm of mixer speed, chopper blades speed of 125 rpm, a drying temperature of 80 °C. Independent Variables include ethanol concentration at 80, 85, 90, and 95%. Extraction time for 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 minutes. The result shows that gandapura extraction using ethanol had dual function, inactivate gaultherase enzymes and extract the active compounds gaultherin. Natural zeolite activation from Cikalong, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia, has been investigated experimentally. The activation process is carried out with a solution of sodium chloride (NaCl), which is utilized by ultrasound cavitation. The purposes of this research are to determine the effect of variation of process variables on the physical-chemical characteristics of zeolites. There were two variables studied, namely; sonication time and NaCl concentration. The study was conducted with the one factor at a time (OFAT) method, which is observing responses to changes in one variable at other constant. The range of sonication time of 20 - 60 minutes, while the NaCl concentration is 0.25N - 4N. Natural zeolites and activated zeolites are then characterized using SEM, XRF, FTIR, iod number, and cation exchange capacity to test their physical-chemical characteristics. Characterization results showed that activated natural zeolite had better quality than natural zeolite. The results of the SEM analysis showed the crystal type of natural zeolite minerals in the form of elongated crystals and others, which indicate the shape of quartz and mordenite. XRF analysis results prove that the elements of Ferrum, calcium, magnesium, and potassium are cations that can be exchanged with other metal elements. The results of the volumetric analysis showed an increase in iodine number and cation exchange capacity, along with an increase in sonication time and decreased along with the increasing of NaCl concentration. Based on these properties, zeolites have excellent performance as an adsorbent.

Cisewu-Garut is one of the landslide-prone areas in Indonesia which occurs almost every year, particularly in the rainy season. The landslide in this study takes place in the slope where a BTS tower is located. The peripheral fence is hanging due to ground movement, while housings stay beneath the foot of the slope. This problem could harm its surroundings and needs immediate countermeasures to prevent any hazard. At the initial stage, a survey is conducted to investigate slope condition, soil state (including soil test), and drainage. Based on available soil data, the second stage is slope stability analysis by creating a model corresponding to real condition data using the element method to Plaxis2D software. As for the third stage, a landslide disaster prevention is established by strengthening the foot of slope using gabion and retaining walls. The gabion wall cage dimension would be 5m wide and 2.5m tall. Two retaining walls by the size of 2m high to 1m wide and 1m high to 0.6m wide are build. The result of slope stability analysis is an increase of safety factor by 1.729, which existing factor is 1.244. The countermeasures also involve drainage refinement and water flow diversion so that water will not penetrate to landslide zone.

The increasing sedimentation of Mrica reservoir shows that the sedimentation control has not been effective. The sedimentation control has been made include the disposal of sediments that settle in the reservoir by dredging or flushing. However, the results are not optimal. This is caused by the large volume of sediment entering the reservoir each year. The controlling volume of sediment that goes into the reservoir has also been carried out by conducting a watershed conservation program and building a check dam in the upstream Mrica reservoir. However, the existing check dam is still less effective in controlling sediments, especially suspended load sediments, that are transported in the river. Therefore this study was carried out by adopting the sediment trap concept to deposit sediments that escaped from the check dam. This study simulated changes in the width of the downstream channel of the check dam by three variations using HEC-RAS. There was a width of 20%, 40%, and 60% wider than the initial width. The results showed the effect of changing the channel width on volume sediment deposited. Based on the results of the study, the change in width to wider than the initial width could increase the volume of sediment deposits.

Reservoir sedimentation is a major problem experienced by reservoirs in Indonesia. Reservoir sedimentation can be overcome by reducing the amount of sediment that enters the reservoir, among others, by building a Check dam. Check dam deposits more sediment loads with coarse grains, while sediment loads with fine grains will escape and enter the reservoir. So it is necessary to have construction to hold and settle fine sediment loads downstream of the Check dam. Construction is planned like a sediment trap in an irrigation system with variations in the cross-sectional area. In this study, the cross-section was expanded by changing its depth. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of changes in the channel depth with discharge and grain size distribution variation on sediment deposition that occurs. The calculation is done using the HEC-RAS software. Simulation results show the deeper the sediment trap, the smaller the amount of sediment deposit. The large discharge, the smaller of deposit percentage. The greater of fine sediment percentage, the less the deposit.

This study discusses the use of zeolite waste and nylon fiber which are used as added material in making concrete. The type of concrete used is self fiber compacting concrete (SFCC). Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) is a type of concrete that emphasizes a high enough workability value so that the concrete can flow and solidify itself during the casting process. In this study, fresh and hardened properties will be tested. The fresh properties tested consisted of slump flow, T50, V-Funnel and L-Box while the hardened test of concrete consisted of compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and flexural strength. Nylon fiber is used as much as 1% of the weight of cement with length of 50 mm, while zeolite ash is used as a substitute for cement with variations of 5%, 10% and 15%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nylon and zeolite ash variations on fresh and hardened properties of self fiber compacting concrete. The results show that using these two additional materials can be applied to self-compacting concrete because it meets predetermined standards for the fresh properties of concrete. In the hardened properties of the mixture of 5% zeolite produces higher compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and flexural strength than other variations. It can be concluded that the content of 1% fiber and 5% zeolite ash instead of cement is the optimum level and suitable for self-fiber compacting concrete.

Concrete technology that continues to develop produces high quality concrete which will be a problem of increasing concrete needs. Along with the soaring price of cement as the main ingredient in making concrete, the cost of making concrete is a problem that needs to be sought as a solution for technological development in the field of building construction. Therefore making concrete mixes by suppressing the amount of cement used can be one of the solutions to the problem. The many needs of the Indonesian community for buildings cannot be separated from the increasing demand for building materials. One of them is marble and glass which in the process there is trash or waste from the results of the remains of the pieces or discarded without any prior management. Therefore the need for efforts that can be made to handle the amount of marble or glass waste by utilizing it as a filler in making concrete. This research is to find out the quality of compressive strength of concrete mixed with marble waste. This study used a compressive strength of 20 MPa plan after the study was carried out obtained the average compressive strength of 10% marble concrete waste at 14 days at 22,35 MPa and at 28 days at 23,20 MPa. The average compressive strength value of glass waste concrete 8% at 14 days is 22,64 MPa and at 28 days is 23,48 MPa. Meanwhile, the average compressive strength value of the concrete combination of 10% marble waste + 8% glass waste at 14 days is 22,92 MPa and at 28 days is 23,77 MPa it can be concluded that all concrete variations in marble waste of 10% and glass waste of 8% have increased. In society today, improper waste disposal brings about numerous problems. One of the most common residual wastes found in the municipal solid waste is human hair. This waste, which is evidently continuing to accumulate in disposal streams poses a threat if not disposed properly. Several studies have been done in the search for possibilities of incorporating hair to construction materials. In this study, the compressive strength of Hair Fiber Reinforced Concrete (HFRC) was studied aiming to find the combination that would yield the optimum compressive strength. A parametric study on the effect of amount of hair (1%, 2% and 3%) as well as length of hair strand (0.5-inch, 1 inch and 1.5 inch) on the compressive strength of HFRC was done. The results of the parametric study were used to find the optimum compressive strength. Utilizing the Central Composite Design (CCD) of Response Surface Methodology (RSM), a mathematical model was produced relating the parameters and the combination of parameters that would yield the maximum compressive strength. Based on the results, the mathematical model obtained a Coefficient of Regression of 0.9807 showing that the probability plot of the residuals fits the regression line. As generated by the mathematical model, a combination of 3.2% amount of hair by volume of concrete and a hair strand length of 0.752 inch will yield an optimum compressive strength of 38.15 MPa.

Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs) are materials that contribute to the hardened concrete properties through hydraulic or pozzolanic activities. The use of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS) as SMCs or partial replacement of cementitious components in concrete provides benefits both in terms of economy and performance improvement. However, GGBFS is not widely known in Indonesia, hence the available research for this product is still limited. In this study, the performance of concrete with GGBFS as a partial replacement for cement was investigated, with the percentage of GGBFS varying by 0%, 30%, 50% and 70% of cement weight. The mechanical properties of concrete being observed are compressive strength and elastic modulus. Porosity testing is carried out to assess the durability aspect of concrete. Compressive tests are carried out when the concrete age reached 7, 28, 56 and 90 days to assess the strength development of GGBFS based concrete. From the study, it was found that GGBFS can replace cement up to a percentage of 50%, with its compressive strength comparable to conventional concrete. However, the addition of GGBFS in concrete mixes slowed the development of concrete compressive strength at early age. Concrete modulus of elasticity decreases with increasing GGBFS, but not significantly. The increasing percentage of GGBFS causes the pore volume to decrease, indicating the greater durability of GGBFS based concrete compared with the conventional one.

Hot Rolled Sheet (HRS) HRS is used on roads with moderate traffic loads, Hot Rolled Sheet is flexible and has high durability, this is due to the mixture of HRS with lame gradations having a large cavity in the mixture, so as to absorb the amount of asphalt large amounts (7-8%) without bleeding, due to the nature of the HRS above, the author chose the HRS pavement type to be modified so that the stability and flow values increased. This study was aimed to determined how much influence iron waste have on stability and flow. This study was used an experimental method that is with a laboratory experiment to get the results, thus the effect of the utilization of iron powder waste on HRS (hot rolled shett) pavement with variations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of filler weight. From the results of this study was found that: Iron powder based on gradation and specific gravity test and water absorption has fulfilled the requirements as fillers as regulated in SNI 03-4142-1996. From the Marshall test data obtained, variations that meet the requirements for the properties of Marshall parameters for HRS-WC pavement are variations of 5% and 10%. Percentage of addition of iron powder variation from filler weight which results in the highest stability and flow and fulfills all characteristics the Marshall parameter is a variation of 10%.

One of the main directions of the feed manufacturing industry development is the improvement of the output product quality that ensures its efficacy in modern agricultural production. Some international experience in using the essential microelements in the form of nanopowders in the diets of farm animals has been gained. The article is devoted to the development and justification of a technical solution to the problem of dispensing ultrafine (nano) powders in the industrial production of combined feeds. The authors carried out theoretical and experimental studies of the influence of the conditions of functioning of industrial-technological equipment on the properties of several nanopowders of micro metals. The parametric model of the proposed pneumatic dispenser of bulk nanomaterials allows taking into account various structural and technological changes in the dosing process during the preparation of feed mixtures. The author presents a methodology for calculating the oscillatory system of a pneumatic dispenser, including an annular membrane with fixed edges, based on the equivalent replacement of a system with distributed parameters (membrane) with a system with lumped parameters, which allows replacing the oscillatory model with a translational motion model. An engineering-mathematical model that describes forced membrane oscillations, the dispenser oscillation system and the behaviour of the ultrafine material in the working chamber was constructed on its basis. Practical implementation of the results made it possible to obtain a prototype of bulk ultrafine materials dispenser.

Agriculture has a strategic role in sustaining the economy of a region, especially in improving food security and production of agricultural products. Food Hubs plays the role of building a food system that is capable of aggregating, distributing and connecting farmers with consumers directly. This requires the role and management of effective distribution methods by integrating the roles of farmers and consumers in a distribution center. The Distribution Center (DC) is managed by a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) that assists farmers in producing, selling and distributing food. Distribution Centers are able to overcome the problem of stock scarcity, price disparity, and price fluctuations in goods - especially staples. The Food hubs are supported by the determination of the number of warehouses, warehouse locations, and warehousing standards for the management of food staple inventory warehouses. Besides determining the level of inventory of safe food staples (buffer stock) is based on the main parameters: lead time and demand requirements. Food Hubs Operations embody the role of farmers, traders, in supporting the activities of distribution centers managed by Regional owned enterprises. Food hubs interactions involve institutions that play a role in sustaining these activities.

Asbestos type brake lining is widely circulating at a cheap price and guarantees the durability of brake shoes, but the result of friction powder in the form of small particles is very dangerous for human health. The study is based on the investigation of hardness and wear resistance in rice plant fiber reinforced composite which is fabricated with polyester resin, fiberglass, and addition of aluminium powder. The composite is hardness tested by using durometer shore D hardness tester. The composite is also wearing resistance tested. The result showed that the mechanical properties were improved due to the increasing of the rice plant fiber composition. The more composition of the rice plant fiber, the harder and the higher wear resistance of the composite. An increase in the composition of the rice plant fiber from 20% to 40% resulted in an increase in hardness of 23% and a decrease in wear by 9%

The environment has an important role in determining the mechanical properties of composites. This study aims to investigate the effect of in-service environment on composite wear resistance in its use as a brake lining. Composites made from a mixture of rice plant fiber, fiberglass, aluminum powder and polyester resin are produced into brake linings. The brake lining is then tested for wear resistance using a friction machine. The test environment is dry, water, salt-water and brake oil. The highest wear is shown by the brake lining in the salt-water environment, while the lowest wear is shown when the brake lining is working in the brake oil environment.
