Valerio Pinchetti

On behalf of Editor-in-Chief Ray LaPierre and the Executive Editorial Board, we are delighted to announce that Dr Valerio Pinchetti is the winner of the 2022 Mark Reed Young Researcher Award in Nanotechnology. Dr Pinchetti has published a series of excellent papers over the last five years that focus upon the optical, photonic, and magnetic properties of novel colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals.

Dr Pinchetti currently holds a Director's Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and arguably his most noteworthy work focuses upon the development and study of new classes of magnetically doped nanocrystals.

We would like to thank everyone who was nominated for this year's award, which demonstrates the exceptional work being carried by this generation of talented researchers. We are proud to champion early career researchers in the journal and will be opening the 2023 iteration of the award for nominations shortly.
