Providing the national and world economy with mineral raw materials is an integral part of development and scientific and technological progress. The modern world is moving to new forms of interaction, concentrating its trends on digitalization, computerization and automation of all processes of human life. However, these trends require the use of strategically important minerals (coal, natural gas, ores of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, rare earth metals, construction raw materials, etc.), as well as critical raw materials, the list of which is supplemented every year in accordance with the trends of scientific and technological progress and the development of the state's economy.

About half of the industrial potential of Ukraine and up to 20% of its labor resources are related to the mining and use of minerals. Due to the export of mineral raw materials and products of their processing, Ukraine receives about 60% of the total amount of export revenues. At the same time, the subsoil of Ukraine still has a significant potential for building up the mineral and raw material base.

The issue of mining and processing of minerals during the war requires special attention in Ukraine. The conference "Challenges of ensuring Ukraine's mineral resources in the context of post-war reconstruction - 2023" is designed to contribute to solving the urgent issues of reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine after the end of the war and the country's integration into the European Union.

List of the committee members who organized the conference is available in the pdf.

The paper examines a complicated non-transport system for mining a gently sloping fireclay deposit using ESH-10/70 dragline excavators. The research purpose is to substantiate the technological scheme of stripping operations and determine their parameters to reduce the strip-mining costs. Theoretical research is performed using the following methods: methods of scientific analysis of theoretical research, as well as practices of project and production organizations; mining-geometric calculations; variant method for comparing and selecting a mining system. As a result, the dependence of the excavator block mining velocity on the entry way width has been determined, which makes it possible to study the relationship between mining and stripping equipment in time. The change in the re-excavation coefficient depending on the width of the dragline excavator entry way has been studied and its rational value has been determined. The practical value of the research results is in the substantiation of an effective system for mining a gently sloping fireclay deposit.

The current state of mining operations in the open pits of the Pokrovsky mining and processing enterprise has been analyzed, where the shortcomings of existing technological schemes have been identified. Technical and organizational criteria have been identified that must be met by technological schemes for overburden and mining operations for the open-pits of the Pokrovsky mining and processing enterprise, where conveyor transport is used. Five technological schemes have been proposed for the Pivnichnyi open-pit, which provide for the reallocation of the height of overburden benches and the movement of overburden only to internal dumps without the use of conveyors. The dependences of the height of the internal dump and its resulting angle of slope on the re-excavation factor for the proposed technological schemes were obtained. The indicators have been calculated at which the most operating efficiency of mining and transport equipment for the Pivnichnyi open-pit of the Pokrovsky mining and processing enterprise (MPE) will be achieved and complete extraction of overburden rocks with cross movement to the internal dump without the use of conveyor transport will be ensured, and the production capacity of the quarry is also given according to the demand for ore.

Research is aimed at establishing the dependence of the semi-mobile beneficiation plant productivity on the face width of the excavator at the developing amber deposits. Analytical research methods were used at the development of the methodology to determine the working time of excavator, taking into account the time for moving the enrichment plant. Appropriate calculation methods are relevant for determining the required amount of technical equipment that ensures the mining operation. The efficient parameters of the face width during the excavation of mining mass have been established, depending on the parameters of the excavator boom, taking into account its replacement. It was determined that the duration of the working cycle of working out the block with the corresponding face width of the pit is based on the time of loading and moving the semi-mobile beneficiation plant, as well as the time for reexcavation. The effective width of the working pit face was calculated with the appropriate choice of the excavator boom. The established parameters of the face width of the pit on the mining bench with the loading of mining mass to the semi-mobile concentrator were implemented in the pit at the development of the Galbin-24 amber deposit.

This paper covers topical issues of groundwater and surface water inflow depending on the quarry field spatial dimensions, which leads to an increase in the costs of dewatering and drainage. The spatial dimensions of a quarry field are one of the key indicators in determining the appropriate depth of mining the deposits of hard-rock building materials. The theoretical research is performed using the following methods: statistical and analytical research method for analyzing the hydrological characteristics of non-metallic deposits and their parameters; graphic-analytical method for determining the area of the quarry walls from which water flows due to groundwater and atmospheric precipitation; technical-economic method for assessing the patterns of changes in costs for dewatering the quarry depth; and method of options for selecting the type of water drainage equipment. As a result, patterns have been obtained that characterize the change in the normative inflow of atmospheric precipitation depending on the quarry field area and the change in the unit costs for dewatering depending on the type of the studied quarry field. The practical significance of the conducted research is to use the obtained results of developed design solutions, tested and implemented in the scientific-technical (project) documentation for the mining conditions of Sofiivskyi, Mykytivskyi, Boleslavchykskyi, Chaplinskyi, and Lyubimivskyi fields of non-metallic hard-rock minerals.

The article deals with the issue of planning the development of mining operations in the context of a changing demand for iron ore products. One of the problems regarding iron ore deposit mining at the current stage of open mining development presented in this work. It includes the following: mines operate with a constant operational capacity while iron ore products price and demand significant variation is observed in mineral markets. In these conditions, there is a possibility of a significant increase in economic efficiency of mining due to the implementation of a flexible change in the main parameters of the open-pit, which is achieved by a justified correction of the development of mining operations by changing the dimensions, parameters and design of the active part of the working area in an open-pit. A technique for planning the development of mining operations in an open-pit has been developed, which differs from the known ones by the possibility of regulating the main parameters of the open-pit under conditions of a changing demand for iron ore products, and also takes into account the interrelationship of mining method parameters ensuring a basic ore stock ready for excavation in the open-pit.

The article is devoted to determining the resource potential of Ukraine in supplying industry with germanium. Statistical information on the potential content of germanium in various types of mineral raw materials located on the territory of Ukraine is summarized. The trends of the world market of germanium consumption in industry have been established. The value of the average content of germanium in coal deposits of the Lviv-Volynsky and Donetsky basins is given. It has been established that the greatest potential for germanium extraction is found in lignite deposits, the content of the valuable mineral in which can be ten times higher than that of hard coal. According to the results of research, germanium is found in the condition standards in ferruginous quartzites of the Annivske deposit of Kryvbas, Horishno-Plavnenske, Lavrykivske and Bilanivske deposits of the Kremenchuk district. The average content of germanium in ore deposits formed from magnetite, hematite, ribeckite, etc. was also determined. The approximate resource availability of germanium contained in deposits of coal, ore and non-ore raw materials of Ukraine was determined.

Scientific research on the integrated extraction and processing of secondary resources, such as mine water, technogenic waste, and others, in order to develop alternative energy sources in the diversification of coal mines is an urgent scientific task that will help solve the issues on the economic, social and environmental transformation of coal mining regions. In practice, it is necessary to consider several alternative options and assess the possibility of obtaining different end products from the targeted processing of secondary raw materials. The choice of a rational processing option to obtain the target product is very complicated due to the different composition of the feedstock, as well as a significant variety of primary processing methods and parameters of intermediate processes, which causes certain difficulties in forecasts and calculations. Developing a methodology for typifying actions when choosing options for integrated processing of recyclable materials of different states, defining the basic principles and its structure for comparative analysis of the input, intermediate, and output parameters in terms of composition, physical, chemical, and technological characteristics are urgent modern tasks.

Proper development of the deposit and the choice and use of effective technologies for block stone extraction are impossible without evaluating the structural indicators of the massif. It consists in studying the propagation of cracks in the array, orientation of the main crack systems, studying the anisotropic properties of stone, and predicting the yield of commercial stone blocks in the deposit. This allows both to increase the efficiency of block extraction and to reduce the loss of stone during its extraction, which increases the economic performance of field development. The assessment of fracturing and blockiness of the Pshenychne gabbro deposit was carried out based on the results of studying the core documentation of 11 exploration wells and the documentation of a pilot production quarry. Rose diagrams, pie charts, and fracturing plans were constructed in isolines, and crack systems common in the field were identified.

The paper assesses the geospatial variability of quality indicators of the Zlobychi alluvial ilmenite deposit of the Irsha group of deposits. The variability of quality indicators was also studied. Based on the use of statistical methods, the dependencies between individual quality indicators were established. A close correlation between the ilmenite content and the thickness of the formation, the thickness of the sole and the thickness of the peat, and an average correlation between the thickness of the formation and the thickness of the sole were found. The main result of the research is the construction of complex placer models, which are used to clarify the structure and conditions of the deposit formation, and to identify conditioned and unproductive areas. The correlation between the distribution of ilmenite and the value of the thickness of the ventilation crust was established. The data for determining the optimal development directions are presented and the zones of mineralization are identified.

Renewable energy sources (RES) have become widely used in many developed countries of the world. In the article, the use of RES is considered using the example of wind energy installations (WEI). For industrial scale volumes of electricity produced, wind energy installations of large capacities and designs are used. To choose a rational design of windmills, a classification of windmills of existing designs is provided. Known foreign types of efficient wind generators are considered. Most often, wind energy installations are used in places with a strong wind flow. Wind energy installations with a horizontal axis of rotation are usually used in these areas. For example, information is given on one of the largest wind farms in Ukraine - the Botiivskyi wind farm, which consists of 65 wind energy installations with a horizontal axis of rotation. The practice of using windmills, despite the great benefits of their use, has significant drawbacks. This problem consists in deriving large plots of land for use and having an impact on the surrounding environment. This, in turn, leads to negative consequences for the ecology of these regions. In connection with this, there was a need to use wind energy installations on land plots that have been decommissioned in the conditions of Kryvbas. These include sparsely populated regions, wastelands, and decommissioned plots of land on which the facilities of mining enterprises are located. It has been proven that the placement of WEI with a vertical axis of rotation of medium power on overburden dumps has its own characteristics. For most of the territory of Ukraine, the average wind speed is 3-5 m/s, so the use of wind turbines with a vertical axis of rotation is more appropriate. The starting speed of such wind energy installation is 0.5 m/s, and at a wind speed of 3 m/s, wind energy installations can reach their nominal power. The paper analyzes the possibility of using wind energy installations on man-made disturbed lands, namely on open rock dumps, and recommends their design features. The calculation of the wind energy potential for vertical and horizontal wind energy installations in the conditions of the city of Kryvyi Rih was made. A comparison of the use of vertical and horizontal wind energy installations was made. The effectiveness of the use of wind energy installations with a vertical axis of rotation in the conditions of Kryvbas is shown.

Technological mining transport schemes of open development of horizontal sedimentary deposits are considered. Various land-saving technological schemes for transportation of minerals in the absence of a capital trench have been developed. The dependence of the mineral transportation cost on the production capacity of the mine for the developed schemes was established. The research has been carried out for conditions of surface mining manganese deposits of Nikopol Basin. Transport schemes using mobile steeply inclined conveyor are offered. The developed technological solutions for the conditions of surface mining of deposits of the Nikopol manganese ore basin allow not only to reduce the amount of disturbed land, but also to reduce the cost of minerals by reducing its transportation distance by 2 km. The proposed transport schemes will make it possible to obtain an economic effect in the amount of 1–3 million UAH.
