1. Addition of Crucial References

In the published article, two crucial references were missing. We make the following three changes to the published article marked in bold.

  • 1.
Page 12, left column, Section 5.2. For such a medium and for small-angle scattering, the scattering optical depth, ${\tau }_{{\rm{SC}}}$, along an LoS at a frequency f is given by (Chrysaphi et al. 2018 )
    Equation (1)
where fpe is the electron plasma frequency and r the radial coordinate.
  • 2.
Page 13, right column, Section 6, first sentence. We present a study of propagation effects in quiet Sun corona based on a quantitative comparison between a data-driven empirical model for thermal bremsstrahlung emission and observed solar maps at meter wavelengths. Both of the ingredients needed for such a study have become available only comparatively recently.
  • 3.
Page 13, right column, Section 6, third sentence. The ability to make realistic coronal models has also improved remarkably recently, and with the availability of tools like FORWARD, they have also become very accessible (e.g., Zucca et al. 2014; Gibson 2015; Gibson et al. 2016). McCauley et al. ( 2018 ) used a similar approach to compare the extent of the simulated and observed quiet Sun.
