Abstract

Learning media is a tool to deliver learning material to students during the learning process. This research aims to develop comic-based learning media on the social arithmetic learning material of class VII students. The research trial was conducted at Sunan Kalijaga Jabung Junior High School in class VII C, with a total of 26 students as the research subjects. The development process of the learning media refers to the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on data analysis, the results obtained are as follows: (1) the learning media validity test result shows that the learning media is valid with a percentage value of 85% and the category of "Good"; (2) the effectiveness test result was obtained through the students' observation sheet and questionnaire with a percentage of 50% < x ⩽ 75% that can be included in the category of "Good"; (3) the practicality test result was obtained through learning observation sheets and student questionnaires. Learning observation sheet with a percentage of 87.5% is included in the category of "Good", while the students' responses questionnaire result sheets with a percentage of 91% is included in the category of "Very Good". Based on those three test results, it can be said that this research has successfully produced a valid, practical and effective learning media.
