Copyright & permissions

Copyright

Before we can publish any article in Fluid Dynamics Research the copyright must be transferred to the Japan Society of Fluid Dynamics (JSFM), or a legal Licence to Publish must be signed by the authors. Transfer of copyright helps JSFM and Publishers such as IOP Publishing to make articles more widely accessible across different media, whether supplementing or replacing printed versions, and hence ensures that the research gains global exposure.

We ask you to submit a completed and signed Assignment of Copyright form when you submit your original or revised paper, or when your article is accepted for publication.

Permissions

For permission to make multiple copies of articles, include material in coursepacks or to share articles via email or intranet please obtain permission via the CCC. Before doing so, check that your institution does not already have a licence in place permitting the use you plan to make.

For all other permissions, please consult the main Copyright page for instructions depending on journal.

If you have any queries relating to permissions, please email permissions@iop.org, including as much information as possible.

We will aim to respond to you within 48 hours of receipt.

Authors preparing their articles for submission to IOP journals may wish to include material (such as figures and tables) from the previously published work of other authors. Before doing this you will need to seek approval from the author and publisher. The Permission request form may also be used for this purpose.

More details can be found on our Author Guidelines page under the 'Copyright, reproduction and permissions' heading.

If you have any questions on either of these main topics then our list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) in conjunction with the IOP Ethical Policy might provide the answers you seek. Alternatively you are welcome to send your enquiry to the Permissions mailbox. Please provide as much detail as you can and we will endeavour to answer your questions.
