Labor utilization in construction project is the most critical because it costs 30-50% of the total cost. In many projects, the labors e.g craftman are hired outside the company. Contractors and owners need sufficient information related to those labors whom they will work with. It is necessary for clients understanding each labor productivity performance in order to achieve the project quality. This study aims to provide the infomation needed by designing an information system that can be easily accessed. This is also to support clients for decision making in terms of teamwork project involved. The level of productivity is measured by Labor Utilization Rate (LUR) using three variables: effective working time, contributory working time, and ineffective working time. Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is applied in designing the information system. The finding showed that information system is properly implemented to assist clients in determining workers using productivity calculation. The system can inform the recommended workers by calculating and sorting their level of productivity that support client's decision making towards construction workers.

Increasing and empowering the economy of the community is an important thing that is a shared responsibility. This is the basis for the LAZ Al Azhar Empowerment "Sejuta Berdaya" program that makes Jampang Village as one of the target groups in the form of Kelompok Swadaya Masyarakat (KSM) which are named KSM Pelita Jampang Gemilang. The community in Jampang village has a variety of jobs with a low economic level. The foundation provides funding to the community through a sharia microfinance institution that collects and distributes public funds in accordance with Islamic law. The Jampang Sharia Cooperative is still operating manually. Registration process, member information, amount of funds and reports are still done manually and stored in a notebook. This causes the operational process not to run properly, because the data is not organized and stored neatly. Based on these conditions, a financial information system is needed, which is a web-based sharia cooperative, so that the operational processes and reports to members and administrators can run better and faster, so that they can help effectively and on target. Information systems are created using SDLC through the stages of user requirements, analysis and implementation.

Tempe is a traditional Indonesian food with processed soybean as the main ingredients. Indonesia is the largest tempe producer in the world with hundreds of thousands of traditional tempe maker. Currently the traditional production process is wasteful that requires the amount of water as much as 1321 liters/production of 37,5 kg tempe. Innovative dry production process is still less desirable because the dry soybean cracker machine is not optimal with a defect of 14,4% per production. In addition, the machine is unable to separate the husk and soybeans from the outlet. There are 12 alternative production concepts to produce highest quality tempe. TOPSIS method was used for selecting best production concept which reduces defect to 6,5% while manual separation process is eliminated. Water consumption is reduced to 800 liters/production of 35,125 kg tempe.

Risk is a factor that has a potential to occur in every part of an industry, including its supply chain. Every industry must consider and manage its supply chain risks in order to minimize losses while improving performance. In this study, a supply chain risk management (SCRM) approach was conducted in the supply chain of wooden toy industry as a way to minimize the impact of risk. In this case, SCRM method is done by identifying risks, assessing risks using the failure mode effect criticality analysis (FMECA) method to determine the risk priorities that must be mitigated, and establish strategies to mitigate the risk with analytical network process (ANP) method. Thus, the risk priority in the wooden toy industry's supply chain is the cost/price risk with the highest WRPN value of 33,379. In order to mitigate the cost/price risk, conducting strategic accounting practices and financial planning are recommended to be considered as its strategies.

The mental workload affects productivity workers to accomplish the task. Staff has many tasks that not only main task but additional task. The additional task is from superior in the same place or the other place. The SOP for duties and distribution of task is not clear so the fatigue can affect to productivity. The method to measure mental workload is NASA-TLX. NASA TLX has six indicators: mental demand, physical demand, temporal demand, performance, frustration, and effort. The analysis not only based on result of NASA TLX but also using statistic test. The result is performance indicator is high that described the staff not satisfied with their job has done. The staff not satisfy but the effort has been taken out is very high. The result of Mann Whitney is not different with two group of the period long term of working which divided in < 7 years and >7 years. The result of correlation test is if the staff make more effort, the satisfaction for their tasks has been done is bigger. The regression test produces an equation but cannot be used to calculation or prediction the staff mental workload. Because regression coefficient is not significant (not usable). The solution is staff must divide the task. Dissatisfaction can reduce motivation and the members cannot perform well.

Cutting process is one of processes in producing tofu before being packaged and marketed. Generally, cutting tofu is performed manually using a ruler with repetitive movements as 20-24 times, therefore it required longer time to cut and cause low back pain (LBP) in workers. Present study objective is to analyze the risk of work with repetitive task in the process of cutting tofu and designing tools to reduce these risks without decreasing the quality of the tofu. The methodology use OCRA and anthropometry which performed on two tofu factories (Mr. Joko and Mr. Udin) in Batam, as research subject. The results showed that repeated movements during tofu cutting were carried out for 33-35 seconds, with the percentage higher at hands work and waiting times in seconds. Furthermore, the OCRA risks of repetitive movements assessment is classified as medium-risk conditions (3.8-4.48). However, it is necessary to repair the cutting tools. Improvements are gained by designing cutting tools in accordance with the operator's hand anthropometry. The new tofu cutting tool produces only 2 times repetitive movements, which is lesser and using OCRA assessment the level of movement risk becomes optimal (≤ 1.5).

The demand for forecasting task is very important to determine the number of stocks efficiently. This process should accommodate the demand for a company's product or service and control the inventory level. Especially for products such as building materials that needed capitals to buy and wide space to keep it safe. This research has objective to minimize the excessive amount of product in inventory and minimize loss in sales. This study was compared between a method named Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) that known as one of the most accurate and widely used forecasting model and ARIMA as a time series model to find the most accurate in forecasting of inventory. In this case, the model of BPNN used 6 input neurons as a monthly period of sale, the price of the product, amount of historical selling, an approximation of project renovation, an approximation of new project building and number of a competitor. And for Arima method we have three trials of tentative models. To compare the accuracy between them, we used the performance criteria such as MAD, MAE, RMSE, RRSE and RAE. In this research, we obtained that forecasting with BPNN is more accurate than ARIMA with error prediction of 19.6, 19.6, 30.4, 0.6, 0.5 for those performance criteria consecutively.

Every company who performs production activities needs inventory of raw materials. The most important thing which is mandatory for all companies when performing their production activities is management of inventory, as inventory is an asset for a company. Availability of raw materials in the industry is expected to facilitate production/service activities to meet consumer needs. Ready-made garment industry, XYZ Pty Ltd is a family business established in 2004 located in Jakarta which engages in textile manufacture and has shown a relatively high demand. While XYZ Pty Ltd attempted to meet the demand, the inventory level was not able to balance with it, resulting in after-hour work of employees. In order to provide appropriate solutions, we proposed some strategies using Mamdani method and TFN (Triangular Fuzzy Number) range which selected appropriate rules to optimize inventory level of the company. Average of range score Fuzzy Interference System obtained for both production level and demand level were 36,500, while average of range score Fuzzy Interference System obtained for Inventory Cost and Inventory Level were 2,250,000,000 and 13,900, respectively. Rules resulting in a high inventory level are very good for use either together with other levels or not. Rules resulting in an intermediate inventory level are also good for use, in particular together with low and intermediate demand levels. Rules resulting in a high demand level are still good for use. On the other hand, rules resulting in a low inventory level are not good for use.

During the rubber production process, there are several wastes caused by breakdown machines, damaged equipments, and production delays. Those wastes have negative impact to companies and thus, need to be eliminated. This study aims to assess wastes in rubber production process using lean manufacturing approach. Waste Relationship Matrix (WRM), Waste Assessment Questionnaire (WAQ), and Value Stream Analysis Tools (VALSAT) are applied to identify the wastes. Fishbone Diagram is then used to determine the root cause of problems. Finally, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method is applied to evaluate the source of wastes and develop the action plans. It indicated that over production, inventory, and defects as the three highest wastes in the rubber production. Process Activity Mapping (PAM) is selected as the analysis tools in VALSAT and it obtained the activities in the rubber production are mostly categorized into value added activities. The necessary but non value added activities are also identified at a fairly high frequent. The major risks during the rubber production is related to dynamo damage and machine clogged in both hammer mill and mangle machine. It needs high attention from the production manager of rubber industry. Then, action plans are suggested to improve the maintenance program.

Business competitions between manufacturing fabrication industries increase fiercely. Companies were demanded to produce high quality products with competitive price that can be delivered to the consumer on time. Storage tank (10000 liter capacity) is one of the most ordered item but most of the time the delivery is unpunctual. During the initial planning, buffer time was unavailable, which caused 32% cost increase by waste. In this study, the concept between lean manufacture and lean project management was bridged to obtain minimal delay. The first research methodology was to identify and analyze waste, second method was risk analysis by FMEA, and final method was cost and time estimation by critical chain project management. S Curve depicted the decrease of delay, and value stream mapping was used to map optimum result from lean project management. Potential waste was "waiting", and the highest FMEA risk value was material delay caused by weather conditions. Project buffer result shows 39% decrease in engineering task and the actual cost was still within the budget. The company need to integrate HR cost in the project and measure the time buffer to predict delay gap.

SPT was the most studied rule in sequencing. Most of the research concluded that SPT was the best rule but other research concluded that SPT did not achieve the best performance. Studies shown that performance varies due to a great different environments because there were so many factors affected the performance. One of the factors that lead to differences in the conclusions was varying of processing time. The objective of the paper was to evaluate the effect of processing time's variance to the performance of sequencing rules. Only processing time variance was being investigated while number of machine was treated as nuisance factor. To achieve this objective, an experiment was designed and the experiment result was analyzed using anova. Performance measure used in the experiment was lateness. Only five sequencing rules were used. The rules were First In First Out (FIFO), EDD, SPT and Slack Time. The experiment found that for a small number of job, the effect of processing time's variance was not significant to the performance of sequencing rule. For large number of jobs, processing time's variance had a significant effect on the performance of sequencing rule. For further research, more sequencing rule to be consider while some assumptions is relaxed.

The study was conducted in a heavy equipment remanufacturing industry. The problem faced by the industry is in order to make the right decisions about the number of products that must be produced and the labor and parts needed to carry out the remanufacturing process. All decisions regarding this matter consider the cost of the new and reprocessed parts and the workforce used, since it depends on the condition of the product returned. In this regard, it will be useful to provide recommendations for developing the production process framework for remanufacturing. The main purpose of this paper is to measure the appropriate production quantity with an existing remanufacturing alternative, during the 3 months observations. This study based on the Cobb-Douglas production function with labor and parts as the input. The remanufacturing process itself consists of three stages; disassembly, reconditioning and reassembly. There were two cases that occurred in reassembly process during 3 months of observation. The input for reassembly process uses new parts and reconditioned parts. In Case I all parts from disassembly process are forwarded to reconditioning process without any constraints. In Case II the parts are binding by the constraints of the return parts. As a result, the existing production quantity from reassembly process is below the maximum output, except for month 2. This indicates that production framework needs to pay attention to the proportion of input parameters. It means that the maximum quantity of the new products could get from a given combination of labor and parts at the reassembly process.

The Objective of this research was to improve the productivity and efficiency in a line process of a case study. The observation showed that current efficiency was about 87% and operator productivity was about 13.3 pcs/hour/man power. Productivity improvement can be reached by three step. First, identification and reduction of non-added value activity. There are 13 non value added activities which are prioritized to be eliminated based on Pareto principles. Second, the reduction number of operators while doing the third step: reallocate the work of each operator after reduction. Operator reduction is done from 3 to 2 operators only. Then the job that is already efficient from the stepped operator is moved to two other operators. After repairing and balancing tasks for each operator, the efficiency value becomes 96% and productivity increases to 20.5 pcs/hour/man power and man power savings to two men power.

PT. Carnegie Universal Industries manufactures holster products and magazine carrier. Holsters have the most variants and the highest demand. To produce a holster, a mold is needed for each type of handgun. A mold uses wooden mold and blue gun. Mold making takes the longest time compared to other stages in the holster production process. The mold making process does not yet have standards, therefore it takes a long time and high cost. The purpose of this study is to develop a process planning to facilitate the making of molds with automated systems using the Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) method, speed up production time, and reduce production costs. The CAPP generative approach is generated through decision logic, formulation, search, algorithm and geometric based data. Database programs are created to store detailed information on each print that has been created. This approach design proved that the mold making procedures are simplified and speeded up and have standards, so that the time and costs are used more effectively and efficiently.

Different computerized algorithms are used to assist the layout planner in generating alternate layout. CRAFT (Computerized Relative Allocation of Facilities Technique) has been developed to improve an existing layout, while ALDEP (Automated Layout Design Program) is a construction layout. The improvement given by ALDEP over CRAFT technique was found to reduce annual material handling cost by 23% [1]. This study hypothesize that better result could be gained by combined two algorithms rather than their independent application. The hypothesis is verified by taking layout problems of CV Aji Jaya Mandiri. The objective of the study is to get the optimal layout of CV Aji Jaya Mandiri using ALDEP and followed by improving it with CRAFT. ALDEP based on the value of proximity (total closeness rating). The layout resulted from ALDEP is improved by exchanging machines positions. The newly layout obtained by ALDEP is compared with the result layout improved by CRAFT. There are two criteria for comparing the layout: material handling cost taken from MHES (material handling evaluation sheet), and the manufacturing lead time or processing time using Promodel simulation. The material handling cost of the layout resulted by CRAFT was decreased by 6,24%, that is mean that CRAFT was improved the layout effectively. The result of simulation showed the manufacturing lead time of the improved layout decreased 23 minutes. Layout evaluation using Adjacency Based Scoring for the CRAFT layout increase 15% compare with the initial layout so it was selected as the best layout. This study concluded that combined use of computerized layout design algorithms provides better result,

The hybrid assembly differentiation flow shop is a three-stage flow shop system with machining, assembly and differentiation stages. The machining stage produces k parts in independently unrelated dedicated machines. After k parts of a job completed, they are assembled at the assembly stage and assigned to dedicated machines for a final process. At the end, several types of finished products are resulted. The finished products should be delivered at their respective different due dates. The problem is to find a schedule considering multi due dates, and the criterion of minimizing total actual flow time. This paper proposes a model for job scheduling in a hybrid assembly differentiation flow shops and its algorithm for solving the problems. The initial solution is defined using SPT-based heuristic and it is optimized using variable neighbourhood descend method. The proposed model is tested using a set of hypothetic data. The solution shows that the algorithm can solve the problems effectively.

The increasingly competitive business environment has encouraged many actors to use information and communication technology as a competitive advantage, including the garment industry. So far, difficulties in controlling raw material inventories which causes problems for the production process. If there is a shortage of raw materials, the production process cannot be carried out, on the contrary if the raw material ordered is too excessive it will cause excess and the high cost of raw material inventory. This research develops an information system that can plan the needs of raw materials needed for production. This system is web-based, applying the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) method to develop raw material ordering planning systems, case studies at garment companies, using PHP programming and FIREBIRD databases. This system gets input from the production schedule resulting from production scheduling information system, then provides output in the form of recommendations for scheduling raw material orders. This output can later be used as a reference for the company's operational decisions in planning raw material requirements.

Market rivalry forces manufacturing companies to be customer focus and have an agile system. In manufacturing companies that produce semi-common products based on customer order, the pressure from customers are usually faster delivery, reasonable price and higher product variability. This paper presents the use of Mass Customisation (MC) concept in order to cope with faster delivery and higher product variability. The MC concept is realised by determining Customer Order Decoupling Point (CODP). Besides MC, Theory of Constraint (TOC) concept is also applied in order to address problem that may occurred after MC implementation. Based on a simulation analysis, it shows that CODP implementation could improve delivery lead time and product variability performance dramatically up to 5.15 times compared to existing system. An optimisation algorithm is also proposed for further study in order to improve cost performance of the products.

The stakeholders in the palm oil supply chain (POSC) are the smallholder farmers who produce fresh fruit bunch (FFB), the traders, CPO factory who produces CPO from FFB, refinery who transformed CPO into frying oil, the distributors/retailers, and the consumers. The palm oil tree regularly produces FFB from its third until 24th year of life. The output of the farmers is measured in its weight (tonnes), so are the outputs of the trader, the CPO factory, the refinery, and the distributors/retailers. However the input to the farmer must be measured differently because the main raw materials are bought in the form of seedling or young palm-oil tree, to be planted on the field and regularly bear FFB to be later sold in tons. The objective of this study is to build a calculation model to allocate the raw material prices of the seedling. Original Hayami method to calculate single company added value was modified to facilitate calculation of the added value of supply chain network of companies. The calculation is based on the crude palm oil (CPO) factory capacity of processing 30 tons of FFB per hour, calculated for a year. The life-cycle-cost approach was used to calculate the appropriate cost of the raw material. Using this approach the raw material cost is IDR 1,012/kg, and the the total POSC added-value is IDR 13,011 per kg of product. It is expected that the modified Hayami added value calculation method can be later applied to larger and more complex industries.

Textile and textile product industries are one of prioritized industries to be developed for its strategic roles in national economy, e.g. contributing to foreign exchange, absorbing a large number of labours, and serving to meet national clothing need. TTP industry has a relatively complex supply chain. Problems in supply chain in companies implementing supply-chain management (SCM) that may occur, among others, are those related to supply-chain mapping. This SCM is used to carry out monitoring, controlling, and identifying position of an organization relative to its competitor and to objectives that they want to achieve. One of companies engaging in TTP industry is FBS Small and Medium Industry (SMI) owned by Mr. Rico since 2004. The company is a make-to-stock manufacturer which produce boys clothing ranging from jeans, t-shirts, to shirts. We conducted interview with experts in the company. Data was collected from the interview with the experts (CEO of the company and his reliable assistant). Based on discussion of FBS SMI supply-chain, it was concluded that basically the flow from suppliers to consumers was same in each production area. Raw materials are transferred from Kebayoran Headquarter to each production areas spread across Java Island, e.g. Jakarta, Pandeglang, Central Java, and Sukabumi, with different CMTs. It is expected that supply-chain mapping analysis of this company is able to clarify the flow of production from raw materials to finished goods reached by consumers.

Article 33 of the1945 Constitution clearly states that all vital factors of production, called strategic industries, are controlled by the state and to be use for the prosperity of Indonesian people. This article implies that the strategic industries supply chain should be managed accordingly. The fourth amendment of the 1945 Constitution offers a macro framework as principles to conduct the supply chain. They are Togetherness, Efficiency of justice, Continuity, Environmental perspective and Self-Sufficiency. Furthermore, the framework can be used to build performance measurement indicators for the supply chain. Currently the method that is widely used to measure supply chain performance is the Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR). This study studied the relations of the strategic industries principle and performance indicators within the SCOR. Twelve professionals and researchers are interviewed as respondents to investigate those relations. More than 90% respondents agreed that; (1) the principle of togetherness is strongly related to Reliability, Responsiveness and Agility; (2) Efficiency of justice is strongly related to Responsiveness; (3) Continuity is strongly related to Agility; (4) Environmental Perspective is strongly related to Green Supply Chain, and; (5) Self-Sufficiency is strongly related to Responsiveness. Therefore, SCOR performance measurement attribute is related with the strategic industries principles.

The use of lean six sigma in manufacturing industry has been more intense in the past decade. This method comprises two concepts: lean and six sigma, each with its own objectives. Lean is a concept that aims to optimize the value stream process by eliminating all kind of waste. Meanwhile, the goal of six sigma is to increase process capability in the value stream by aiming for zero defects and reduced process variation. The supply chain performance of manufacturing companies is determined by the ongoing internal activities reflected in the value stream, therefore both lean and six sigma applications are hypothesized to have an impact on the performance. Based on the reviewed literature, this study aims to produce a framework that can be used to explain the impact of lean and six sigma on supply chain performance. In the proposed framework, lean indicators are reflected in just-in-time, quality management and employee involvement, whereas six sigma indicators are characterized by the six sigma variables. At the other end of the equation, supply chain performance is defined by four constructs which are supplier selection, production, delivery and logistic performance, and warehouse.

This keynote paper illustrates the theory and evolution of Supply Chain Management (SCM) as well as highlights chronological prospective of SCM in terms of time frame in different areas of manufacturing and service industries. The objective of SCM is to incorporate activities across and within organizations for providing the customer/stakeholders value. Supply Chain Management (SCM) has been widely researched in numerous application domains during the last few decades. Despite the popularity of SCM research and applications, considerable confusion remains as to its meaning, there are several attempts made by researchers and practitioners to appropriately define SCM. This paper demonstrates Educational Supply Chain Management, Integrated Tertiary Educational Supply Chain Management (ITESCM) model, as the application of SCM in the service industry, which would add the values towards academia. ITESCM model were identified and confirmed by 493 respondents, representing experts and administrators, faculty, staffs of the university, employers, graduates, etc. The resulting model was subsequently evaluated for accuracy and validity by multiple linear regressions (MLR) analysis and the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. The research model provides a novel approach for decision makers of each supply chain components to review and appraise their performance toward fulfillment of ultimate goals i.e. producing high-caliber graduates and high-impact research outcomes, which represent two main contributions, for the betterment of the end customer, i.e., the society.
