In the 21st century, automation technology and electrical control systems, as the core driving force of industrial progress and social development, are revolutionizing our production and life style at an unprecedented speed. In order to discuss the latest research results in this field and promote international academic exchanges and cooperation, we are honored to have welcomed the 2024 International Conference on Automation, Electrical Control Systems and Equipment (AECSE 2024). This conference aimed to build a high-end and open international exchange platform, gathering top scholars, industry experts and young talents from all over the world to explore the cutting-edge trends of automation technology and electrical control systems, and to promote the innovation and application of related equipment and technology.

The convening of AECSE 2024 coincides with the surge of global Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing, and the importance of automation and electrical control technology as the core support of intelligent manufacturing is self-evident. From the integration and optimization of intelligent manufacturing system to the application of industrial internet of things and big data; from the research and development and application of intelligent robots to the innovation and progress of power electronics technology, every technological breakthrough has a profound impact on the development pattern of the global industry. This conference was born in this context, aiming to contribute wisdom and strength to the future development of global automation and electrical control field through in-depth exchanges and discussions.

With the increase of substation voltage level and the local installation of relay protection equipment, the electromagnetic disturbance in the working environment of relay protection equipment is more complex and intense. Firstly, this paper analyzes the characteristics of steady-state electromagnetic disturbance sources and transient electromagnetic disturbance sources in high-voltage substations. Secondly, conductive electromagnetic disturbance is generated by Multisim by building an electric fast transient pulse group generating circuit. Finally, the radiation coupling simulation model of space electromagnetic disturbance to secondary cables is established, simulated, and analyzed. The results show that grounding both ends of the cable shielding layer can reduce the impact of electromagnetic disturbance, based on which grounding both ends of the armor layer can further reduce the coupling current of the cable.

In order to meet the increasing demand for high reliability and high security of power systems, this paper proposes an OTA online upgrade design program for a new generation of home-made safety and controllable protection measurement and control devices. The program includes the upgrade package's composition, the upgrade file's credible verification, and the online upgrade process. The design realizes remote upgrade of device software through a wireless network, which not only improves the upgrade efficiency but also ensures the safety and reliability of the upgrade process through a series of security measures. This paper describes in detail the composition of the upgrade package, the credible verification method of the upgrade file, and the online upgrade process, which provides effective technical support for the remote operation and maintenance of protection measurement and control devices.

This paper proposes a new bearing-only three-stage bias compensation method (BWIVBC) for inaccurate sensor locations. In the first stage, the proposed method (BBC) estimates the target position consistently after compensating for the sensor measurement errors. In the second stage, based on the target estimate of the first stage, the Weighted instrumental variables (WIV) method is used to refine the target location estimation. In the third stage, the bias of the WIV method is further compensated, and the final target location estimate is obtained. The performance advantage of the proposed method is verified by numerical simulation.

This paper aims to examine the practical input-to-state stability (p-ISS) of stochastic T-S fuzzy systems (T-SFS) with parameter uncertainty by employing dynamic event-triggered control (DETC). In order to reduce the frequency of triggering events and the number of messages transmitted, we propose a DETC scheme, which introduces the waiting time to avoid Zeno behaviour and further saves communication resources. Additionally, within the DETC approach, LMI-based criteria are formulated to guarantee p-ISS for nonlinear stochastic T-SFS.

The power router is the core equipment of the future energy Internet, but there is no test standard for its electrical safety and reliability. In this paper, the possible existence of quality risk sources of power routers is classified and analyzed in detail, and safety testing items and indicators are listed, especially those focusing on electrical safety and reliability. A testing system for power routers was provided with the testing conditions based on application scenarios. Meanwhile, the test is done, and the results show that it is necessary to develop testing methods and conditions for the Power router.

To realize the overall control of substation GIS equipment from the overall perspective, research on the global interconnection control method of substation GIS equipment under repeated deduction is proposed. Considering that the core goal of the control of substation GIS equipment is to ensure that the health status of the substation reaches the optimal level, the twin assessment index system of substation health status is constructed, and based on this, a global interconnection model of substation GIS equipment is designed based on introducing FIS technology. In the control phase, the inner loop control and outer loop control are adopted to adjust the control parameters and output the optimal control in combination with the health status output of the whole area interconnection model of the substation GIS equipment. In the test results, the active power output of the design method is significantly higher than that of the control group and shows a higher stability.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), as the terminal information sensing unit of a smart grid, dynamically adjusts power distribution by monitoring the load situation of the grid in real time, and achieves the balance and optimization of grid load. Therefore, this paper proposes a smart grid load-balancing control method based on wireless sensor networks. This method uses wireless sensor nodes deployed at key locations in the power grid to collect operational data and utilizes a hybrid paper swarm algorithm for data processing and analysis to accurately predict and intelligently regulate power grid loads, thereby effectively improving the operational efficiency and stability of the power grid. The experimental results show that the smart grid load balancing control method based on wireless sensor networks proposed in this paper can accurately predict the grid load and effectively achieve load balancing and optimization. Compared with traditional methods, this method has higher prediction accuracy, faster response speed, and stronger robustness.

The key to solving the power quality problem of the traditional traction power supply system was the through-connected traction power supply system. This study analyses the impact of the traditional through-connected traction power supply system on power quality and constructs a new through-connected traction power supply system that considers the improvement of power quality and multi-energy access. This is achieved by combining the multi-energy access scheme. A comparative analysis is conducted between the new system and the traditional through-connected traction power supply system in terms of four aspects: power quality, multi-energy access, economy and low-carbon, and stability and flexibility of the system. The results show that the advanced traction power supply device considering power quality improvement and multi-energy access has positive effects in facilitating new energy consumption, effective harmonic suppression, and cost optimization.

Electricity demand forecasting is an important foundation for guiding energy planning. The proposal of the "dual carbon" policy has an impact on economic development, energy structure, and electricity demand, which traditional research has not considered. This work proposes a method for predicting electricity demand under the "dual carbon" background. Firstly, the main influencing factors of electricity demand under a "dual carbon" background are analyzed. Afterwards, the relationship between economy, energy, and carbon emissions is analyzed, and based on macro development trends, major economic indicators such as industrial structure are predicted. On this basis, combined with policy constraints such as energy consumption and carbon emission intensity, and considering the energy consumption structure, a method for predicting the total electricity consumption of the whole society under the background of "dual carbon" is proposed. The maximum load forecasting method is proposed based on the analysis of the maximum utilization hours of the load. The proposed method is applied to Zhangjiajie, providing methodological guidance for the analysis of the city's economic development, the prediction of electricity consumption for the whole society, and the prediction of maximum load.

Pure SF6 gas-insulated high-voltage DC through-wall casings use internal epoxy resin pillar insulators. During operation, temperature gradients and the long-term effects of the DC electric field lead to the accumulation of surface charge on the gas-solid insulation surface. This accumulation can easily trigger flashovers along the insulator's gas-solid interface. The charge distribution characteristics of silicon nitride material in the DC electric field are less influenced by temperature gradients, making it a viable substitute for epoxy resin materials used in SF6 gas insulation support. In this paper, for the spatiotemporal variation of surface charge of epoxy resin and silicon nitride ceramic materials under a DC electric field, the material parameters are set based on the measured resistivity-temperature variation curves of epoxy and silicon nitride. The SF6 gas flow is considered to obtain a more accurate temperature distribution through the coupling of the heat flow field. The Schottky injection equation is introduced to take into account the influence of the surface charge accumulation process over a long period and to establish a more precise temperature distribution under the coupling of the DC electric field, the heat flow field, and the gas laminar flow field. The surface charge simulation model of epoxy and silicon nitride ceramics considering Schottky injection and bipolar carrier migration and transport model in SF6 under the multi-field coupling of the gas laminar flow field is established to analyze the dominant mechanism of the surface charge accumulation of epoxy and silicon nitride ceramics under the effect of the measured temperature gradient and to analyze the long-term change rule of the surface charge in the space and time.

In this paper, the optimal scheduling problem of active distribution networks after electric vehicle (EV) access is investigated, and a two-layer optimal scheduling strategy for an EV-containing park distribution network with dynamic tariffs is proposed. The upper-layer model takes the minimisation of EV charging and discharging cost and load variance as the objectives, and updates the charging and discharging states with the tariff, and particle swarm solves the optimal charging and discharging power curves and inputs them into the lower-layer model; the lower-layer distribution model takes the economic cost of the distribution network, the three-phase imbalance, the load variance, and the discard rate as the objectives, and adopts the multi-objective dung-beetle algorithm for solving the problem. The dynamic tariff of each phase is input into the upper layer model, and the up and down cycles are iterated until relatively stable. The results show that the two-layer optimal dispatch model with EVs proposed in this paper can not only optimise the charging and discharging cost and load difference of EVs in the upper layer, but also improve the four optimisation objectives of the lower distribution network, taking into account the optimisation of both the upper and lower layers, and the simulation results validate the effectiveness of the scheduling strategy.

In strong wind environments, changes in airflow patterns can affect the degree of deflection of insulator skirts. Deflection or tearing of composite insulator skirts can reduce their insulation performance. This article takes the double I-string composite insulator of the 330 kV transmission line as the research object. The wind angles are set as 0°, 16°, 30°, 60°, and 90°. The wind speeds are set as 5m/s, 10m/s, 20m/s, 30m/s, and 40m/s. The simulation results show that under the 0° windward angle condition, the upstream insulator completely blocks the airflow. The flow state near the double I-string changes with the variation of airflow velocity. The flow states on the high, medium, and low voltage sides of the upstream and downstream insulators are different. In future research, it may be considered to analyze the impact of airflow on the long-term performance of insulators and provide a reference for the optimization of insulator umbrella skirt structures.

The conventional meter intelligent communication method establishes a communication network with an existing network, which is affected by background noise, impulse noise, and so on, and the communication quality is degraded. Therefore, a multi-channel meter intelligent communication method based on a low-voltage power line broadband carrier is designed. The characteristics of low-voltage power line broadband carriers for meter communication are extracted, and the background noise and impulse noise of power line carrier communication are analyzed to determine the impedance characteristics of the meter communication channel. Based on the low-voltage power line broadband carrier, the meter intelligent communication network is generated, and the fast path of meter communication is evaluated to meet the demand of multi-channel communication of the meter. Comparison experiments are used to verify that the method has a better quality of intelligent communication and can be applied in real life.

Conventional microgrid power self-balancing optimization and regulation methods are mainly based on real-time regulation mechanisms, but there is the problem of local optimum, which affects the regulation effect. Therefore, a stochastic Monte Carlo method is designed to optimize the power self-balancing regulation of remote rural microgrids in multiple time scales. The multi-time scale power imbalance characteristics of remote rural microgrids are extracted, and the load differentiation characteristics of remote rural areas are judged according to the regional economic development and resource endowment. Based on stochastic Monte Carlo, a microgrid multi-timescale power self-balancing optimization and regulation model is constructed to quantify the self-balancing capability of the microgrid, taking into account the temporal difference between wind power and remote rural load demand. Taking into account the inter-seasonal characteristics of remote rural loads and the dynamic balancing demand of sources and loads, the multi-timescale adjustable power of remote rural microgrids is optimally allocated to further balance the complexity of the regulation model and the solution time. Comparative experiments are conducted to verify that the self-balancing optimization effect is better and can be applied in real life.

The conventional power optimization configuration algorithm mainly focuses on static configuration and does not take into account the dynamic changes in photovoltaic output, which affects the final configuration balance. Therefore, a power optimization configuration algorithm for the DC access port of the optical storage DC flexible system was designed. With the goal of stabilizing the unbalanced power of the access port, a DC access port power optimization configuration model for the optical storage direct flexible system is constructed to optimize the energy storage capacity of the optical storage direct flexible system and meet the power optimization configuration requirements of the access port. By optimizing the allocation of high and low-frequency power components at the DC access port and eliminating the integral effect of power command configuration in the optical storage DC flexible system, stable DC power access can be achieved. Comparative experiments were conducted to verify that the algorithm has better performance and can be applied in practical life.
