This special issue focuses on the latest advancements and research findings in the field of intelligent operation and maintenance, as well as health management of mechanical equipment. It aims to explore innovative approaches, methodologies, and technologies employed in ensuring the optimal functioning, efficiency, and longevity of various mechanical systems. Topics covered may include but are not limited to predictive maintenance techniques, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis, reliability engineering, optimization strategies, IoT applications, and data-driven approaches for enhancing the performance and health of mechanical equipment. The special issue provides a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share their insights, experiences, and solutions contributing to the advancement of intelligent operation and maintenance practices in the mechanical engineering domain.

Submission process

We encourage submissions from all authors whose work fits with the scope of this focus collection. The collection will also feature invited contributions. All focus issue articles are subject to the same review process as regular articles. Authors are invited to contact one of the guest editors, or the journal team directly, to discuss the suitability of their work prior to submission.

Deadline for submissions

The target deadline for submissions is 1 November 2024 though we can be flexible where necessary. We encourage early submission where possible, as articles will be published on acceptance without being delayed by other papers in the collection.
