Abstract
In this study, the cathode CSFIC perovskite material has been prepared by sol-gel technique and then tested for its characteristic application in solid oxide fuel cell. The crystal structure was tested using X-ray diffraction and the textural properties were tested using Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The morphology and microstructure was examined using scanning electron microscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The power density, current density and the DC polarization resistance were measured with a Nuvant TM potentiostat and galvanostat from Fiaxell SOFC technologies connected to the cell setup. These properties were tested for its potential application in low temperature solid oxide fuel cells from 300 to 500 °C. It exhibited a current density of 801.90 mA/cm2, a power density of 471.59 mW/cm2 and an area specific resistance (ASR) of 0.349 Ω/cm2.
