Abstract

The research was carried out in 2019-2020 within the framework of a long-term study of the quality and phytosanitary state of sports turf in the southern region (Fisht Stadium in Sochi, Krasnodar Territory), at the Department of Plant Protection and Laboratory of Plant Protection of the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy (Moscow). For the first time in Russia was found on the territory of Sochi (Fisht Stadium) the fungus Curvularia sp., which was identified by cultural and morphological characteristics using microbiological and microscopic methods. Specification of the species of the fungus was carried out according to the results of the molecular genetic method. The results of sequencing and subsequent comparison of the obtained nucleotide sequences with the NCBI and MycoBank databases made it possible to establish that a phytopathogenic fungus of the genus Curvularia, presumably C. geniculata, caused the damage of turfgrasses in Sochi.
