Abstract
In light of the new standard for Discrete Global Grid Systems (DGGS) currently being proposed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), we revisit our earlier work on defining the rHEALPix DGGS. This paper briefly restates the definition of the rHEALPix DGGS and shows how the cell geometries, and schema for cell identifiers are both compliant with the standard. We then show that the fundamental topological operators, required by the standard can be implemented directly by manipulation of the cell identifiers without reference to or knowledge of traditional coordinates.
