Abstract
In 2003 the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on Biological Diversity establishing procedures concerning export and import of products of modern biotechnology which was recognized today obligatory by the majority of the CIS countries came into force. After the introduction of the Cartagena Protocol in force there was a need of more strict legislative regulation for the sphere of safety when processing, packing and transportation of living modified organism.
