Abstract

Preface to the Proceedings of the LT28

LT28 was held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on August 9-16, 2017, and was a great success. A total of about 900 abstracts were submitted for oral and poster presentations, including invited talks. The summary by Professors William Halperin and John Saunders, representing the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), highlights some of the scientific achievements presented at the conference.

The present Proceedings of LT28 comprise 155 papers, describing some of the currently most interesting works in the field of low temperature physics, subdivided into five categories:

1. Quantum fluids and solids

2. Superconductivity

3. Cryogenic techniques and applications

4. Magnetism and quantum phase transitions

5. Quantum transport and quantum information in condensed matter
