Abstract
In this paper we present an experimental investigation in the scope of Industry 4.0 that provide an answer to the question of whether and to what extent operation sequencing during machining affects the output parameters of process planning design: main production time (MPT) and total energy consumption (TEC). Main production time is the basic indicator of productivity, while total energy consumption is an indicator of energy efficiency of the process. After experimental research, a relation was established between the variants of operation sequencing during machning, on the one hand, and main production time and total energy consumption, on the other hand.
