Abstract
This work contains a comparison methodology and the resulting mathematical ratio, which can be used to compare the power of signals reflected from range cells with a certain water content. It is assumed that there is an electromagnetic wave attenuation between the radar and the range cell on the signal propagation path, which depends on the wavelength and weather conditions. Simulation results are presented that allow us to recommend the use of Ku-band radars in light precipitation on short-range aircraft.
