Abstract

The Hyper-Kamiokande experiment is a next generation neutrino and nucleon-decay experiment. The experimental setup consists of a neutrino beam line and a huge Water Cherenkov detector. The detector is under construction towards the operation in 2027, and under optimization of its design especially around new photosensor modules, multi-PMTs. In this paper, I have evaluated a neutron tagging performance, which is one of the important techniques for the physics analysis, in the Water Cherenkov detector. The evaluation covers the relationship between the tagging efficiency and the configuration of the mPMTs.
