Abstract

This study aims to describe factors that cause passivity and are reluctant to ask students during learning, as well as to see what efforts made by the teacher to overcome the problem. So that later it will give an illustration of the extent to which the teacher understands and knows the impact of the learning that has been done. Participants from this study were 12 mathematics teachers who had 10-34 years of teaching experience. The Result show that the majority of teachers thought that fear and shame were the main factors for causing students's low participation and reluctant to ask. Unfortunately, there are still many teachers who have not realized that the learning method used. In addition, the effort made to overcome these problems is to provide motivation and make an interesting and comfortable learning atmosphere. That is the answer which is most expressed by the teacher.
