Abstract
With the increase of the number of intelligent substation monitoring devices, traditional optical fiber communication network will result in increased complexity of the communication system and difficulty in system maintenance. On the base of the analysis of the communication requirements of substation monitoring and technical characteristics of different wireless communication technologies, this paper presents a multi-communication technologies hybrid networking solution to meet the communication requirements of substation monitoring. This communication solution combines the advantages of ZigBee and WLAN mesh network.
