Abstract
Screening and antiscreening channels for ion-ion collisional excitations in classical non-ideal plasmas are investigated. The interaction potential in non-ideal plasmas is represented by a pseudopotential model. The semiclassical trajectory method is applied to the path of the projectile ion in order to allow visualization of the excitation probability as a function of the impact parameter, projectile energy, and non-ideality plasma parameter. The semiclassical excitation probability is found to decrease with increasing non-ideal effect. It is also found that the non-ideal effect on the excitation probability increases with increasing collision energy. The non-ideal effect on the antiscreening channel is found to be more significant than that on the screening channel.
