Abstract

An apparatus for the measurement of contact potential differences by the capacitor principle is described. The required capacitance variation in the capacitor system is produced by the rotation of a metallic auxiliary electrode above two juxtaposed test electrodes. The equation for the alternating voltage signal is derived. The form of the electrode surface producing a purely sinusoidal signal is calculated.
