Abstract
Presents some results of mathematical modelling of patient dose arising from common X-ray projections. Values of effective dose equivalent calculated for ranges of applied potential and total beam filtration are expressed relative to entrance surface dose and to a constant dose in the image receptor plane. Such dose information is essential to the optimisation of X-ray procedures.
