Permanent purchase option

The archive is available to purchase for a one-time fee. You can either load content locally or have permanent rights to view the data through the IOP web server. Customers interested in this option can choose to pay in up to three instalments. If you would like to discuss purchasing the archive please contact your IOP regional representative for more information.

Annual subscription option

The archive is also available as an annual subscription for customers outside of North, Central and South America. You can order directly or via your subscriptions agent. Contact us at custserv@iop.org for a proforma invoice.

German Higher Education Institutions

The Technische Informationsbibliothek Hannover (TIB) has licensed the Institute of Physics Journal Archive (1874-2009) in perpetuity on behalf of the German education community. All state-funded higher education institutions in Germany are eligible to apply for free permanent access to the archive, including Universities, Polytechnical Schools (Fachhochschulen) and Research Institutions. Full details on registering to receive the archive can be found by visiting www.nationallizenzen.de.

UK Higher and Further Education Institutions

The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) has licensed the Institute of Physics Journal Archive (1874-1998) in perpetuity on behalf of the UK education community. All higher and further education institutions in the UK are eligible to apply for access to the archive.

 

Registration for the Institute of Physics Journal Archive requires that a licence agreement be completed and returned for your institution to receive free permanent access to the archive. Full details on registering to receive the archive can be found by visiting the JISC website.

Institutions now have free online access to over 110,000 articles and 1.5 million pages of research from 40 journals published by the Institute of Physics between 1874 and 1998. The content has been purchased in perpetuity, and access via the publisher's server is free until 31/12/2014. An access fee may apply after this date, but institutions can choose to self-host the content free of charge.
