Scope

Research in the area of conformable electronics has seen large growth in the past decade. Coupled with the development of flexible substrates for device fabrication and the growing market for wearable electronics, there has been a large increase in research activity in the area. Compared to top-down lithography-based fabrication, which requires extensive capital investment, growth in the printed and flexible electronics field is 'organic', with a bottom-up approach in the development of new materials and devices. This has been especially useful to researchers in emerging markets.

This focus issue is devoted to showcasing the diversity of research topics in the area of conformable electronics in India. The focus issue will cover recent developments in this field, including but not limited to:

  • Development of new materials and inks
  • Printing systems and techniques and their development
  • Wearable sensors, energy storage devices, displays, and other devices
  • Fundamental studies (including computational) on printing and patterning

Submission process

We encourage submissions from all authors whose work fits with the scope of this focus collection. The collection will also feature invited contributions. All focus issue articles are subject to the same review process as regular articles. Authors are invited to contact one of the guest editors, or the journal team directly, to discuss the suitability of their work prior to submission.

Please submit your article via our online submission form. You should submit the appropriate article type for your submission then choose 'Focus on Conformable Electronics in India' from the drop-down menu.

Deadline for submissions

This focus issue is OPEN for submissions.

We encourage early submission where possible, as articles will be published on acceptance, without being delayed by other articles in the collection.

If you have any questions, please contact Caroline Mitchell (Publisher of Flexible and Printed Electronics).

Peer review

All focus issue articles will be peer reviewed in the same manner and to the same high standard as regular issue articles, with the peer review overseen and administered by our in-house journal editorial team. Find out more about peer review at IOP Publishing.
