Abstract
It was verified that the frequency dependence of magnitude and phase of the reflection coefficient gave characteristic patterns against the specimen thickness, so that specimen thickness could be determined by analysis of those characteristic patterns. As a result, attenuation constant and sound speed in thin tissue specimens were determined with a non-contact procedure using a scanning acoustic microscope.
