Abstract

Alignment of Ebert-Fastie monochromators can be easily and rapidly done using the method described in this note. This method is mainly based on the use of a small He-Ne laser and the observation of the Fresnel diffraction pattern. This method can easily be extended to the alignment of Czerny-Turner monochromators.
