Abstract
We present spectroscopic observations of 25 emission-line stars in the Canis Majoris region of Schwartz, Persson, & Hamann. This work is part of a program to investigate emission-line objects in the southern hemisphere. The objects were observed in three different spectral regions providing full coverage in the interval 3100–7500 Å. In this paper, we describe some of the main spectroscopic features and discuss the nature of the objects. It is proposed that 16 of them are Be stars and seven are T Tauri stars. Two objects failed to show emission lines.
