Article types

  • Research papers Based on 900 words per page (up to 10 journal pages), one figure being equivalent to 150 words.
  • Rapid Communications The most important criteria for acceptance of a Rapid Communication are novelty, significance, topicality and timeliness. All Rapid Communications must be submitted with a covering letter, justifying the urgency of the manuscript.
  • Topical Reviews These review articles are generally commissioned by the Editorial Board.
  • PhD Tutorials These articles are authored by PhD students and their supervisors and present sufficient information to enable an active researcher to access another subfield quickly.
