Lasers light the path of neuron regeneration
Researchers have used lasers to create intricate 3D tissue-engineered scaffolds, with reproducible features, shape and sizes, and demonstrated their ability to effectively harness the growth of neuronal cells.

Computer-aided design used for breast tissue reconstruction
In a study published in Biofabrication, researchers used computer-aided design (CAD) to create an extremely accurate mould of a breast that was used as a visual aid to surgeons in tissue reconstruction operations. Furthermore, CAD was used to design and produce patient-specific physical scaffolds that could potentially be used in conjunction with one of the most promising areas of medicine—tissue engineering.

Biofabrication celebrates its first Impact Factor
As reported in the 2010 Journal Citation Reports published by Thomson Reuters, Biofabrication (BF) has received its first Impact Factor of 1.857. To celebrate this year’s result, we have compiled a selection of BF’s most popular articles. Click here to read the collection.

Highlights of 2010
A selection of papers that highlight the very best research published in Biofabrication during 2010. All of these articles are free to read until 31 December 2011.
