Show affiliationsSqualene has been used as a model compound for the investigation of sulphur crosslink in the vulcanization process. The effects of the accelerator on the crosslink were deduced from the sulfur K-edge absorption spectra. The majority of the crosslinks for the squalene vulcanized with ZDEC or TMTD is likely disulfidic, while that vulcanized with CBS or MBTS is monosulfidic.
