Show affiliationsAn intense laser beam propagating in relativistic plasma undergoes stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), producing a relativistic plasma wave and an electromagnetic sideband. The amplitudes of the Langmuir wave and scattered electromagnetic sideband wave increase initially and decrease after attaining a saturation level, giving a periodic exchange of energy between the pump wave and the daughter waves. The relativistic effect plays an important role during SRS of a laser in plasma.
