Abstract
The structure of the shock front in nuclear matter is studied within the framework of the hadron chemistry approach, which gives the possibility of treating thermalization of nuclear matter as well as inelastic processes of Δ-resonances and pion production. Effective thermal and chemical widths of the shock front are evaluated within the energy range 0.4 to 1 GeV per nucleon.
