Show affiliationsA methematical model to represent fluid flow, heat transfer and inclusion separation in continuous casting tundishes has been developed. The influence of tundish depth and length, flow rate, pouring method of molten steel and presence of a dam on the rate of inclusion separation is investigated for slab caster tundishes. A comparison of the present numerical results to simple analytical results has been made
