Show affiliationsIn this work, highly crystalline λ-MnO2 nanodisks are synthesized via a simple microemulsion process by using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a capping layer. Detailed information about the morphology, such as size, shape and crystallinity, was investigated by using x-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as well as high resolution TEM (HRTEM). SQUID measurements were also carried out to explore the magnetic properties on the nanodisks, which may promote their future application in nanodevices and nanotechnology.
