Show affiliationsThe paper presents results of recent extensions of the prehistoric tree-ring chronologies for oak (Quercus sp.) from the area of north-western France. Nearly 3000 timbers and sub-fossil Neolithic oaks, mostly from the Paris basin, Normandy, Brittany and the Loire valley, were used for construction of three regional chronologies, covering the periods 4027–3602, 3228–2694 and 2501–2223 BC. They are dated in spite of gaps thanks to site or standard chronologies from Switzerland, Germany, eastern France or southern England.
