In this paper, I give a brief overview of results reported on at the Strangeness 2000 Conference on strange particle production in heavy-ion collisions from experiments at the BNL-AGS facility (beam energies 2-15  A  GeV  c -1. Since this presentation was part of a broader perspective round-table discussion, I will attempt to reproduce some issues raised during the conference that relate the results at the AGS to those at both lower and higher energies.
