2006 has been a particularly successful year for Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (J. Phys. B), with the journal publishing a wide range of outstanding papers across the whole of atomic, molecular and optical physics.
The journal merged successfully with Journal of Optics B in January 2006 and the new J. Phys. B has a much wider scope reflected in the scientific interests of the Editorial Board, our pool of referees and the research published by authors.
With so much excellent research, it has once again been a difficult, yet enjoyable task for the Editorial Board to selecting papers that best represent the quality and breadth of the research published in J Phys B during the year. I am delighted to present the Highlights of 2006, all of which are free to read until 31st December 2007, and I am very grateful to the authors who chose to publish with us and to the referees who vetted and improved the articles.
If you have any questions about J Phys B please contact the journal team at jphysb@iop.org.
With best wishes,
Dr Andrew Wray
