Show affiliationsRadiative recombination of a relativistic electron with a highly charged ion in the presence of an intense laser field is considered. The high electron energy and its strong coupling with the laser field lead to a very broad energy spectrum of the emitted γ-photons featuring very pronounced side wings and showing a saturation at extremely relativistic electron energies. Moreover, characteristic shifts in the angular distribution occur due to the impact of the laser photon momentum.
