Show affiliationsScaled-energy spectroscopy for strontium M = 0 Rydberg atoms in an electric field is studied. Fourier transformed recurrence spectra are compared with a hydrogenic closed-orbit calculation with the uniform approximation. The experimental M = 0 excitation configuration enables the large core effect on the recurrence spectra to be investigated in detail. Extra peaks induced by ionic core scattering as well as the core shadowing effect are observed in the experimental recurrence spectra.
