Show affiliationsThe interference of classical and quantum spinors is discussed. A formalism based on a Schwinger assembly of elementary spins is used to consider the interference of quantum spin states in terms of their isomorphic image spinors in classical spin space. By considering a model spin interferometer in the form of an aplanar ring, a spin interference term is obtained from a Berry-like spin rotator determined by the curvature of the ring. It is suggested that spin interferometry may provide a direct probe of the gravitational curvature of spacetime.
