Show affiliationsA semiclassical model for the resonance electron-positive molecular ion collisions is discussed. A model system, containing only two states of the Rydberg set, is considered. The results obtained demonstrate a rather simple physical content of the processes, which are masked in the real systems by a large number of the states of the Rydberg set that can make the cross section patterns very complicated. The study demonstrates that the method which has been previously successfully applied for the study of electron-molecule collisions can be used directly for a study of all inelastic channels in the case of resonant electron-positive ion collisions.
