Excited-state to excited-state transition of hydrogen-like ions by impact of charged particles

Show affiliations

The authors derive a one-dimensional integral representation of the scattering amplitude in the Coulomb-modified Glauber approximation for arbitrary nlm to n'l'm' excitation of hydrogen-like ions by the impact of charged particles. An attractive feature of the integral representation is that it incorporates all detailed structures of the initial and final state wavefunctions via the form factor. The integral representation is found to be useful for efficient computation of cross sections.
