Show affiliationsA simple and inexpensive method of obtaining a photographic record of pulse beats by fixing a mirror over a vein or artery is described. Faults involved in other methods are avoided. By means of crossed slits a fine point of light traces out a curve which exhibits details of the pulse beat. It is hoped that these tracings will be of use for purposes of diagnosis in cases where the electrocardiograph is not available.
