Show affiliationsA sample injection port specially suited for the gas-liquid chromatographic analysis of irradiated organic compounds is described. The non volatile portion of the injected sample is retained in the evaporation chamber while other volatile components pass over into the chromatographic column. After analysis the evaporation chamber could be easily opened, cleaned and then re-covered to be ready for the subsequent analysis. Long term use of the reported device showed it to be satisfactory in use and that there were no bad effects on peak shapes or on the quantitative analysis of samples.
