PPCF/EPS Poster Prize Winners

Four awards were made for the best posters presented at the 40th European Physical Society Conference on Plasma Physics , the winners are:

  • John Omotani

    " Non-local parallel transport in the tokamak scrape-off layer"


  • Yevgen Kravets

    " Energy losses due to radiation reaction in an intense laser pulse "


  • Didier Vezinet

    " Soft X-Ray cooling factor low dependency on transport: investigating the domain of validity"


  • Sina Fietz

    " Interaction of neoclassical tearing modes with externally applied magnetic perturbations at ASDEX Upgrade"

Itoh Project Prize Winner

The winner of the Itoh Project Prize will travel to Japan to visit Professor Itoh at Kyushu University. After much deliberation, the selection committee; S.-I. Itoh (Chair), A. Fasoli (Switzerland), A. Fujisawa (Japan), E. Gusakov (Russia), C. Hidalgo (Spain), K. Itoh (Japan), U. Stroth (Germany) chose:

  • Farah Hariri (CEA, IRFM, France)

    " A Flux-Coordinate Independent Field-Aligned Approach to Plasma Turbulence Simulations "

Two students also received high commendations from the judges:
  • A. B. Altukhov (Ioffe Inst., Russia)

    "Turbulence wave number spectra in the FT-2 tokamak by radial correlation Doppler reflectometry "

  • J. Dominski (Ecole Poly. Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland)

    "Simulating the effect of fine radial structures resulting from non-adiabatic passing electrons on turbulent transport in the ITG and TEM regimes"
