Investigations on the caesium-cadmium diode

It is found that the volume ionization in caesium diodes may be improved by the addition of cadmium. This is due to collisions of the second kind of caesium with cadmium atoms excited on the resonance level. Some electrical and spectral characteristics of the low voltage arc in caesium-cadmium vapours are given.
