Show affiliationsThe absolute beta branchings from the 103Cd decay to the ground state of 103Ag and from 103Ag to the ground state of 103Pd have been measured. The deduced log ft values indicate the presence of the g72/+ neutron shell-model orbital in the 5/2+ ground state of 103Cd and in various states in 103Pd. A simple core plus particle coupling is able to account for the measured admixtures.
