Show affiliationsThe spin wave dispersion law in ferromagnets with random anisotropy axes is obtained. It is shown that the spin wave damping due to their scattering on the fluctuations in the magnitude of the anisotropy constant D and the direction of the anisotropy axes is certainly large at low wavenumbers. At larger wavenumbers the damping caused by the fluctuations of the anisotropy axes is small. The D fluctuations are inessential in the two-subnetwork ferromagnets and can be of great importance in the one-subnetwork ferromagnets. Even when these fluctuations are small, the spin wave in the latter case can be heavily damped at all wavenumbers.
