Temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity of liquid tin between 214 degrees C and 705 degrees C

The electrical resistivity of liquid tin was measured between 214 degrees C (subcooled state) and 705 degrees C with a relative accuracy of the order of 10-3%. The resistivity of liquid Sn was found to be concave (d2 rho /dT2<0) function of the temperature rho (T)=a1(t-TFP)+a2(1-exp(-a3(T-TFP)))+ rho 0 in the whole range studied. The temperature coefficient of resistivity is, contrary to previous results, not a constant but a decreasing and continuous function of the temperature. A possible explanation of the observed behaviour of the resistivity and its temperature coefficient in terms of a two component model of liquid is suggested.
